Prime Bulgaria and Romania 5 Days

Your journey begins in the vibrant city of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. After checking into your hotel, we will embark on an afternoon tour of the city's iconic landmarks, including the Alexander Nevski Cathedral, the Russian Church, and a Mosque. The rest of the day is yours to explore the city's squares and avenues, showcasing Stalinist architecture.

We depart Sofia in the morning, heading for the serene Bachkovo Monastery, Bulgaria's second most important monastery. After soaking in the tranquility, we continue to Plovdiv, one of Europe's oldest cities. Here, we will explore the city's rich history, including a visit to the Roman Amphitheatre, the ancient chemist's, and the Armenian House. A delightful dinner concludes the day.

Our journey today takes us through the picturesque Balkans mountain range. We will visit the city of Kazanlak in the valley of the Roses, where we will learn about the production of rose-derived products. We will also visit the Russian church in the mountain village of Shipka and the charming village of Etara. After lunch, we will travel to Arbanasi, an ancient trading city, and then to Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria's former capital.

Today, we travel to Romania, stopping en route to visit the Basarbovski Monastery, a unique pilgrimage site carved out of rock. We then cross the border and the river Danube to reach Bucharest in the early afternoon. After lunch, we will take a panoramic tour of the city, exploring its ancient quarter and the colossal Parliament Palace. The day ends with leisure time followed by dinner.
