Reaching the highest peaks in Romania: Moldoveanu Peak (2544 m) & Negoiu Peak (2535 m)

Welcome to Romania! Upon your arrival in Sibiu, you'll be transferred to a charming pension located in the old town. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time to explore the beautiful old town on your own. In the evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner at a traditional restaurant, where you'll discuss the upcoming trekking tour with your mountain guide.

Today, we'll drive to Cabana Poiana Neamtului at the foot of the Fagaras Mountains. From here, we'll start our trekking tour, hiking along the Râul Mare stream and through beautiful forests. Our destination for the day is the Bărcaciu hut, located at an altitude of 1500m. If you're up for more adventure, you can continue hiking to a high plateau, where you'll find a small lake and enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Today's trek takes us to the Scara, where we'll enjoy panoramic views of Romania's highest mountains. We'll then descend to the Scara and hike along the edge of an open valley basin towards the Șerbota. Before reaching the Șerbota peak, we'll turn off and descend to the Negoiu hut, where we'll spend the night.

Today's adventure begins with an ascent to the 2535-meter-high Negoiu, the second highest mountain in Romania. From there, we'll hike through the Strunga Doamnei and continue to Lake Călțun. Our journey will then take us over the Laițel and Paltunu peaks to Lacul Bâlea, a picturesque lake where our mountain hut is located.

Today, we'll hike from Lake Balea to Șaua Caprei, also known as the goat peak. We'll then continue along Lacul Capra, where we'll find a monument dedicated to avalanche victims. Our journey will take us through a spectacular path between the Portița Arpașului peak and the Arpașu Mic peak, and then to the Podragu hut, where we'll spend the night.

Today, we'll ascend to the roof of Romania, passing by some of the highest mountains of the Fagaras. Our journey will take us to Moldoveanu, the highest mountain in Romania. After a rest, we'll hike down to Transylvania and spend the night in a hotel near the Poienari Castle.

Today, we'll start by visiting the impressive Vidraru dam. We'll then drive to the Dracula castle Poienari, where Vlad III Draculea hid from the Tartars and Turks in 1462. We'll also visit Curtea de Argeș, one of the oldest cities in Romania, and Manastirea Cozia, a richly decorated monastery. We'll end the day with a relaxing dinner in Sibiu.

Before we say goodbye, we'll take a guided stroll through the beautiful old town of Sibiu. You'll have the chance to explore its narrow streets and representative buildings, which reflect the multifaceted history of the former capital of Transylvania. After the tour, you'll be transferred to the airport for your return flight.
