Day 1 – Day 1: Tirana - Kruja - Shkodra

We'll start our journey in Tirana, where our tour leader will pick you up from your hotel. Our first stop is Kruja, a city known for its resistance against the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century. Here, we'll explore the Medieval Old Bazaar, one of the largest and oldest in the Balkans, and the Castle of Kruja, a 5th-century fortress perched on a rocky hill. After some free time for lunch and shopping, we'll head to Shkodra, where we'll spend the night.

Our second day begins in Shkodra, one of Albania's oldest cities, where we'll visit the Rozafa Castle and enjoy stunning views of the lake and rivers. We'll then cross the border into Kosovo and visit the Monastery of Decan, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its white color and frescoes. Our day ends in Prizren, the cultural capital of Kosovo, where we'll spend the night.

Day three is dedicated to exploring Prizren, a city known for its rich history, incredible nature, and gastronomic delights. We'll wander through the streets, admire the medieval houses, and visit the Sinan Pasha Mosque, known for its rich arabesque color and pattern. Don't miss the chance to shop in one of the many filigree shops and witness the metalsmithing magic. We'll end the day with a stunning view of the city from the fortress on the hill. Overnight in Prizren.

On day four, we'll head to Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, where we'll visit the Newborn Monument, a symbol of the country's independence. We'll then continue to Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, known for its European, Ottoman, and Asian influences. Here, we'll visit the Alexander the Great Statue and explore the Old Bazaar, the largest in the Balkans. Overnight in Skopje.

Day five takes us to Matka, a nature paradise near Skopje, where we'll enjoy a boat trip through the canyon, explore caves, and visit medieval castles. From there, we'll head to Ohrid, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its ancient human settlements and beautiful lake. In Ohrid, we'll visit the Church of St. John, the Halveti Hayati Tekke mosque, and explore the city's architecture, churches, and castle. Overnight in Ohrid.

On day six, we'll visit St Naum, a beautiful location near the Albanian border, where we'll visit the Monastery of St. Naum and enjoy the stunning nature of Galichitsa National Park. We'll then cross the border into Albania and visit the National Park of Drilon, known for its beautiful greenery and tranquil waters. After a day of exploring, we'll head to Berat, where we'll spend the night.

Day seven takes us to Berat, known as the town of 1001 windows and a UNESCO World Heritage site. We'll walk through the narrow stone streets, admire the medieval houses, and visit the Berat Castle, where residents still live inside the castle walls. After exploring Berat, we'll drive back to Tirana, where we'll spend the night.

On our final day, we'll explore Tirana, the capital of Albania. We'll start with a local breakfast at a small local place, then visit the Çam Bazaar, where you can buy all kinds of goods. We'll also visit the Bicycle Bazaar and the New Bazaar, where we'll try traditional Albanian lunch. Our last stop will be BUNKART, a museum dedicated to the history of the Albanian communist army and the daily lives of Albanians during the regime. This marks the end of our remarkable adventure through history and culture.
