Join fellow travelers for a transfer to the northeast, heading towards the quaint town of Kukes near the Kosovar border. The 2.5-hour journey offers a glimpse of Albania's diverse landscapes. Kukes, a town renowned for its humanitarian efforts during the Kosovo conflict, sits at the confluence of the White River and the Black Drin. The majestic view of Mount Gjallica sets the stage for the adventures ahead. Enjoy a delightful dinner and settle into your accommodation.

A 45-minute transfer takes you through the dramatic Vanave Gorge to the highlands of Gora. Begin your hike near the Gorani village of Shishtavec, ascending gradually to the rocky summit of Kallabak. This peak offers panoramic views, including the 'Pope's Hat,' where three borders converge. Continue along a scenic ridge, crossing into Kosovo, with Mount Korab looming in the distance. Descend into an alpine valley to reach Caje, the highest year-round inhabited village in Albania. Engage with locals over a glass of raki and enjoy a hearty dinner.

Bid farewell to your hosts and embark on a longer hike to Radomire. Traverse meadows adorned with vibrant flowers, possibly spotting the rare Albanian lily or grazing semi-wild horses. Cross a high ridge with views dominated by the rocky peaks of Korab. Enter the Korab-Koritnik Nature Park, part of the Balkan Green Belt, and descend into the Korabi field. Arrive in Radomire, a bustling village welcoming all Korab enthusiasts. Settle into a simple guesthouse for the next two nights and enjoy a well-deserved dinner.

Rise early for the highlight of your journey: the ascent of Mount Korab, Albania's highest peak. This challenging yet non-technical hike takes you through diverse terrains, including shepherd huts and alpine meadows. Reach the saddle on the Macedonian border and circle the peak for a unique perspective. Enjoy a picnic with breathtaking views of Albania and northern Macedonia. Descend via a different route back to Radomire. Alternatively, you can opt for a shorter hike or a leisurely day exploring the village. End the day with a satisfying dinner.

Depart from Radomire and ascend an old patrol route towards the border, discovering the 'brezi i bute,' a sand strip used to track footprints during Albania's communist era. Enjoy the serene surroundings, once under strict surveillance. From the highest point, overlook a glacial valley where sheep graze freely. Arrive at a glacial lake for a refreshing dip before reaching the Kaloshi clan shepherd huts at the Women's Pasture. Experience their hospitality, learn about their daily life, and perhaps try milking a sheep. End the day with a campfire under the starry sky.

Leave the shepherds and their remote alpine world behind, climbing a mule track to the Grama Pass for a 360° view of the surrounding peaks. Appreciate the journey as you gaze upon Korab and Lake Grama. Descend the old border patrol trail, marveling at the rock face you just conquered. Circle the valley edge, enjoying panoramic views, and approach Rabdisht. Arrive at a charming guesthouse via cobbled streets, where you can relax in an idyllic apple orchard and toast with the hosts over a glass of firewater.

Today's hike through the picturesque villages of Dibra offers a gentle transition from the simplicity of the alpine heights to the bustling life of towns. Traverse hills and pastures, linking villages like Zagrad, Cerjan, and Bellove. Experience traditional stone houses and meet locals who still live off their own crops. In the early afternoon, a transfer takes you from Bellove to Tirana. The modern capital's vibrant atmosphere contrasts sharply with the trek's serenity. Explore the main boulevard and enjoy a final dinner at one of Tirana's many excellent restaurants.
