8 nights accommodation on a twin share basis in 3 star mountain hotels/inns, 3 nights in mountain huts on a multishare basis

Luggage transfer (except days 2, 5 & 10 when you need to carry your overnight gear with you) - allowance is max 2 pieces pp, max 25kg per piece

During the trip you will be accommodated in a combination of alpine huts and 3 star hotels/inns. These have been handpicked for their location and their suitability for hikers. The inns are comfortable and atmospheric, similar to an alpine chalet with all the comforts of a hotel including ensuite bathroom, tv, good beds and usually a great view. Often wifi is also available. In the huts you will need a sleeping sheet - these are mandatory. Blankets are available. The dorm rooms are usually for 8-10 people, sometimes smaller. They have a commanding position in the high mountains with superb views, hearty cuisine and a friendly atmosphere.

Twin Beds: In Austria note that a twin room is not always associated with having two beds! Quite often a twin bed has one or two mattresses positioned together with two separate duvets. Sometimes there might be two beds positioned together, but they cannot be separated because of constraints of the room. Please accept our apologies for this, but having looked at a lot of rooms many of the hotels do not generally have two separated beds!
