Experience an unforgettable bear watching and photography night in Suomussalmi, Finland, where you can observe wild bears up close from the comfort of a cozy wooden hide. This unique adventure lets you witness the secretive lives of Finnish brown bears, guided by an expert who shares fascinating insights throughout the night.
Your journey begins at 16:00 from the Martinselkonen Wilds Centre, where you'll meet your guide and set off on a short drive, followed by a gentle walk through enchanting forest trails. The wooden hide, nestled in a prime bear feeding area, comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests, each with a dedicated seat, photography hole, and access to bunk beds for sleeping.
Inside the hide, you'll stay alert for bear activity while enjoying complimentary coffee, tea, sandwiches, and biscuits. The expert guide remains with you to ensure your safety, answer questions, and help you spot and photograph bears, with great chances of seeing multiple animals and, from late June onwards, adorable bear cubs born the previous winter.
The adventure concludes the next morning around 7:30, returning you to the Martinselkonen Wilds Centre. Please come prepared with comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, as Finnish summers can be chilly and paths may be muddy. There is no running water or electricity in the hide, and smoking or alcohol is not permitted during the experience.
