At the first hotel you will be provided with a VTC Hybrid Bike which comes with a repair kit, 2 panniers, lock, helmet (only on request), and a handlebar bag.

A limited supply of e-bikes are available – supplement applies.
Locks will be provided. Please use the locks to secure your cycles every time they are left unattended (particularly overnight). No security deposit is taken for the bikes however you will be expected to pay for a replacement if a bicycle is stolen or damaged. Contact us for theft insurance details.
We recommend that you pay for optional bike insurance - supplement applies. Without this insurance, you will need to pay 400 € per standard bike and 2000 € per e-bike, gravel or road bike should the bike be stolen or damaged. It is a condition of rental that you accept this requirement.
In the case of a puncture the assumption is that you can repair. You will be given a proper puncture repair kit, which will enable you to solve the problem.

Day 2 – Day 2: Bordeaux to Lacanau-Ocean

Today, you'll cycle from Bordeaux to the seaside town of Lacanau-Ocean via the Green Way, a cycle path that follows a former railway track. Enjoy a scenic ride through pine forests, accompanied by the song of cicadas. Lacanau-Ocean, nestled in the heart of the Medoc-Ocean region, is known for its long ocean beaches, unspoiled natural areas, and early 20th-century villas.

Join the Velodyssee from Lacanau-Ocean, cycling between dunes and forests. Discover the widest wild beaches of the Aquitaine coast, including the 13km long Porge Ocean beach. Finish your day cycling through typical oyster villages and take the ferry to the seaside town of Arcachon.

Today, cycle towards the 'Great Dune of Pyla', the highest in Europe. Take the time to climb to the summit and appreciate the breathtaking views. Continue under the pines of the Landes forest to Biscarrosse, known for its waves and relaxed seaside feel.

The Velodyssee leaves the coast today, taking you inland where the blue of the vast lakes replaces that of the sea. Discover Lake Cazaux and Sanguinet, the second largest lake in France. Continue alongside Lake Biscarrosse and Parentis before the path takes you through the forest to rejoin the ocean at Mimizan beach.

Leave the lovely seaside town of Mimizan beach and return to the Velodyssee. This is a very pleasant stage, it's quiet and calm as you cycle through pine-scented forests. Discover 'Contis' and 'St Girons' ocean beaches and the beaches on Lake Leon. Finish your cycling day in either Moliets or Messanges, attractive seaside towns in the Landes department.

The last stage of your cycling holiday sees you leaving the Landes. The cycle path leads you once more into the heart of the forest before you reach the seaside towns of Hossegor and Cap Breton. Enjoy the wide beaches before cycling through more urban areas as you approach Boucau. This is Basque country. Follow the cycle path through its capital, Bayonne and continue to the renowned seaside town of Biarritz.
