The tour also includes visits to the Montagne de Reims Regional Natural Park, the Verzenay lighthouse, and the famous Avenue de Champagne in Epernay. You'll learn about the different types of Champagne, from 'Blanc de Noirs' to 'Blanc de Blancs', and even visit the village of Dom Perignon, the legendary monk who invented effervescent wine.

In Reims : The hotel welcomes you in its pared-back décor that harmoniously blends contemporary lines with stylish furnishings, all picked out in colourful and contrasting hues, to create a refined and soothing atmosphere. Hotel with heated indoor pool.
In Epernay : The Hotel is ideally situated in the center of Epernay, established in a building of 18 th century style architecture. The interior of the Hotel was entirely renovated between 2012 and 2016. A few steps from the Hotel you will find the magnificent Avenue de Champagne, where there lies, hidden, 110 kilometers of cellars (listed in the World Heritage Site - UNESCO).
As this is a self-guided holiday there is no group and no leader. A local representative is on hand to assist you and will meet you at the beginning of the week to set up your bike and go through the route notes and point out particular places of interest. Your luggage is transferred and route notes and maps are provided. The route notes contain a 24-hour emergency assistance telephone number. In an emergency, the local representative is normally able to dispatch a taxi or pick you up themselves. They may wish to charge for this service.

Start your journey at Champagne Ardenne TGV station, just a short distance from Charles de Gaulle airport. From there, we'll arrange a transfer to the city centre of Reims, the Capital of Champagne. Spend the day exploring the city, tasting the finest Champagnes, and visiting the historic Reims Cathedral, where French Kings were once crowned.
Day 2 – Day 2: Reims to Trigny

Leave the city of Reims and head towards the Saint-Thierry massif, offering a breathtaking viewpoint. Continue your journey through forests and vineyards to the picturesque village of Trigny, known for its medieval ramparts and beautiful flowers. Here, immerse yourself in the origins of Champagne and enjoy a tasting.

Today, you'll ride to the Montagne de Reims Regional Natural Park, a haven of charming wine-making villages. Follow the prestigious Champagne route, stopping at the Verzenay lighthouse for a panoramic view of the vineyards. The day ends in Epernay, a town surrounded by vines and home to the famous Avenue de Champagne.

Learn about 'Blanc de Noirs' Champagne, made exclusively from black grapes, as you cycle through vineyards offering stunning views of the Marne Valley. Visit Hautvillers, the village of Dom Perignon, who is said to have invented effervescent wine. Continue through quaint wine villages like Fleury la Riviere and Oeuilly.

Today, you'll taste 'Blanc de Blancs' Champagne, made solely from chardonnay grapes. Ride along the Cote des Blancs, known for its chalky soil ideal for chardonnay cultivation. Discover wine villages nestled between the vineyard and the lush forest, including Avize, Cramant, and Mesnil-sur-Oger.
