Super time! Bikes delivered early and app worked great. We found a small country road on the way back that was amazing! Thanks.

I had a great experience with the team from meeting them to my briefing on the bike to my return after 2 days of enjoyable riding in the countryside and along the coast.
Each member of staff could not have been any more helpful and supportive and they even helped me charge my mobile at the drop off as it ran out of juice as I approached Bayeaux.
I will use the company again next year as their equipment and back up is the best I have received in Spain and France as well as in Jersey.
Keep up the friendly and efficient service.

We did the Omaha path by ebikes. Finally we saw one of the historic places of D-Day and much more: beautiful nature, nice people and good food. The owner of LocVelo is very friendly and always ready to give a lot of information to enjoy the ride. We will come back... It's a promise

I visited Normandy for the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Since a lot of visitors were expected in the area, I decided to skip the parking problems and car queues. I decided to make my trip by electric bike and longer transitions by train.
LocVelo's electric bike was a hybrid type, with front suspension, which is well suited for driving on roads and dirt roads. The battery size was 500Wh with which I could pedal 80 kilometers (I weigh more than 100kg). The terrain is quite flat and is well suited for cycling tourism. I mainly used the Tour setting, which was the medium assistance level on the bike. During the week, only a couple of hills required the use of the "turbo" setting.
One day the battery died, but pedaling felt almost normal. About the driving feel of the electric bike: The Torque type assistance feels much more normal compared to the cadence sensor.
Motorists were very considerate of cyclists, leaving plenty of space when passing.
Transfers by train went surprisingly well. Only on Sunday evening, when people left Normandy, was the train more full, but there was room on the train. The trains have their own space for transporting bikes. The size of the space varies depending on the train type.
I relied too much on Google's map service for cycling routing. It sometimes led to ancient cart paths that were overgrown and to tractor tracks in the fields that were not so suitable for a hybrid-type bike.
I got a lock, a side bag, a case for a mobile phone and tire repair accessories with the bike.
Renting a bicycle via the website was easy. Picking up and returning the bike went great. I could use LocVelo's services again!
Note to those arriving in Europe. The speed of "normal" electric bikes is limited to 25 km/h (15.5 mp/h) and throttle is not allowed. Anyone can ride these bikes without separate insurance or permits.

Very friendly and helpful. Nice bikes with everything you need. Tourist information recommened them highly and I would agree.

The experience of dealing with this company was good from start to finish.
A clear web site which was easy to navigate. A good selection of bikes (we went for electric bikes which were a revelation). Reliable delivery and collection from the accommodation. Well maintained equipment and a clear and patient explanation of how everything worked.
The Komoot maps each day were a good investment as it gave structure and purpose.
Well worth the time and money.

I walked to LocVelo from ville-cente, mid-day and was set up and ready to go in 10 minutes! It was amazing. I used a trek bike and easily biked 22 miles to the coast and back…and I do not often bike. Nor am I particularly fit. It was lovely to be outside in the countryside. Thanks for a great afternoon!
