Fall Festival: The Wild, Majestic Loire River

We set sail in the morning towards Chalonnes-sur-Loire. Enjoy an informative onboard presentation about the Loire River, France's longest river, followed by a fun onboard contest. In the afternoon, we head to Angers for a tour of its magnificent château, home to a remarkable collection of medieval tapestries. Experience the local culture with a game of La Boule de Fort before returning to the ship for an evening of traditional entertainment.

Our day begins with a visit to the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest surviving monastic cities. After exploring the Abbey, we'll sample some of the region's finest wines in a local cellar. Following a lunch in a local restaurant, we head to Rigny-Ussé to visit the fairytale-like Château d’Ussé, believed to have inspired the story of Sleeping Beauty. The day concludes with an evening of dancing on board.

We cruise to Nantes, where you'll enjoy a taste of Curé Nantais cheese and Muscadet wine before lunch. In the afternoon, we embark on a panoramic city tour, passing by notable sites like the Le Lieu Unique, the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany, and Saint Anne's Butte. The highlight of the day is a visit to the Machines de l’île, an extraordinary artistic project that blends the imaginations of Jules Verne and Leonardo da Vinci. The day concludes with the announcement of our contest winner and a festive gala evening.
