From Munich into Allgäu

Embark on a journey from Munich, heading south along the Isar River. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Munich and the serene forests along the river. Visit the Schäftlarn Monastery and its beer garden before retiring for the day at Gut Schwaige (or similar).

Start your day with a short transfer to Starnberg, a renowned sailing and spa paradise. Traverse through the Maisinger Schlucht gorge to reach the idyllic Maisingersee lake. Visit the Andechs Monastery and enjoy stunning views of Lake Ammersee before ending your day at Seefelder Hof (or similar).

Pass by the Augustinerstift Dießen and hike across flowering meadows into the extensive Stiller Wald forest. Visit the Wessobrunn Monastery and explore the market town of Weilheim before retiring for the day at Vollmann (or similar).

Leave Weilheim and hike on the Way of St. James through the small monastery village of Polling. Enjoy fantastic views of the Zugspitze and the Tyrolean and Allgäu mountains from the Hoher Peißenberg before ending your day at Pfaffenwinkel (or similar).

Start your hike through the Ammerschlucht gorge to Rottenbuch. Visit the Wieskirche, a famous pilgrimage church, and walk through the Wiesfilz bog to Steingaden. From there, a short bus journey takes you to Alpchalet Schwanstein (or similar).

Head into the nature reserve of Buchinger Filz and walk along Lake Hegratsried to the world-famous fairytale castle of Neuschwanstein. Pass the idyllic Schwansee and reach the market town of Füssen, the destination of your eventful hiking week. Rest for the night at Hirsch (or similar).
