From Munich to Meran With Charme - The Alpine Crossing Made Easy

Start your tour in the vibrant city of Munich, the state capital of Bavaria. Spend the day exploring its numerous attractions, including the lush English Garden, the historic Town Hall, and the world-famous Hofbräuhaus.

Cycle from Munich through the serene Forstenrieder Park to Lake Starnberg. Continue along the lakeshore to Seeshaupt, passing through quaint Bavarian villages and the beautiful Osterseen and Riegsee. End your day in the charming town of Murnau am Staffelsee.

Start your day with a ride through the Murnauer Moos nature reserve, the largest moorland area in Central Europe. Follow the river Loisach through untouched nature to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Take a ride on the Zugspitzbahn to an altitude of 2962 m for a breathtaking view over the Alps.

Cycle along the beautifully laid out Isar cycle path through the sunny high valley with magnificent panoramic views of the Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains to Mittenwald. Take a break here and stroll through the village decorated with Lüftlmalerei paintings. Continue through the spectacular Leutaschklamm gorge to Austria and end your day in the beautiful valley of Leutasch.

Head over into the Inn Valley, leaving Leutasch on a gently undulating country road before an eight-kilometre descent takes you to Telfs. Cycle along the Inn on the former towpath and reach Stams with its baroque Cistercian monastery. Continue to Imst, the 'Merano of North Tyrol'.

Cycle along the Inn past Zams Monastery to Landeck. A bus transfer takes you up to Nauders. From there, ascend to the Reschen Pass and then descend to Lake Reschen. Continue along the cycle path to your overnight stay in St. Valentin.

Start your day with a visit to the fully preserved medieval town wall of Glurns. Cycle down to Merano via the mining ruins in Silandro/Schlanders. Along the route, you'll pass castles and palaces, including Juval Castle by mountaineer Reinhold Messner. Enjoy views of the impressive Ortler massif and the Stelvio Pass while cycling.
