Entrance fees

Entrance to the monasteries: Appropriate clothing is required. Ladies should not wear short skirts and must have long sleeves. Men are not allowed to wear shorts.

Meteora Monasteries: We visit the Great Meteoro Monastery and St. Stefanos. Every Tuesday, we are visiting instead of Great Meteoro, Varlaam monastery.

Begin your journey in the vibrant city of Athens, heading northwest to the ancient town of Delphi. Here, you'll explore the renowned Temple of Apollo and immerse yourself in the rich history of this iconic site. After lunch, we'll traverse Central Greece, making a brief stop in Lamia and Trikala. Our final destination for the day is the quaint town of Kalambaka, nestled at the foot of the awe-inspiring Meteora Monasteries. You'll have time to shop for souvenirs before settling in for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, we'll venture to the UNESCO-listed Meteora to tour the magnificent cliff-top monasteries. Marvel at the breathtaking views from these Byzantine structures, perched atop towering sandstone pillars. You'll have the option to visit a Byzantine icon factory before we journey back to Athens, stopping for photos at the heroic monument of Leonidas in Thermopylae. We'll arrive in Athens in the early evening.
