A Circular Tour around the Peloponense 10 days

We kick off our journey from Athens, heading towards the Isthmus and Ancient Corinth. Here, we explore the Museum of Ancient Corinth and the Archaeological site. We then proceed to the town of Loutraki Perachora, where we dive into the blue waters of Lake Vouliagmeni. After a delightful meal at a local tavern, we descend to the Old Epidaurus to visit the organized archaeological site of Asklepieion and watch an Ancient Theater performance. We end our day with dinner at a historic tavern in Lygourio and overnight in Epidaurus or Nafplio or Tolo.

Our second day begins with a visit to Tiryns, the Mycenaean acropolis with Cyclopean walls. We then explore Mycenae, the realm of mythical Agamemnon, and enjoy a wine tasting with traditional Greek food. After a refreshing swim at the beach of Karathona, we head to Nafplio, one of the most beautiful cities and the first capital of Greece. We visit attractions like Palamidi and Bourtzi, and get lost in narrow alleys. The day ends with dinner and overnight in Nafplio or Tolo.

On day three, we head for the coastal Arcadia, a region combining the wild beauty of the mountains and the tranquility of the sea. We swim in the pearl of Tserfou, a magical bay with small pebbles and crystal clear waters. After lunch at a seaside tavern, we leave for Fokianos, one of the most beautiful beaches of Greece. Our day ends in the tranquil village of Kyparissi, where we enjoy great food and overnight.

Day four takes us to the picturesque port of Gerakas, a small medieval village offering rare images. We then visit the romantic Monemvasia, a uniquely preserved medieval castle-city. After a traditional meal, we head to Elafonisos, the island of the pirates, known for its turquoise crystal clear waters and beautiful beaches. We end our day with dinner and overnight at Elafonisos or Neapolis.

On the fifth day, we depart for Sparta, the glorious ancient city of Peloponnese. We visit the enchanting castle of Mystras and the city of Sparta. After lunch, we depart for Gytheion, one of the most beautiful cities of the Mani. We then visit Cape Tainaron, the southernmost tip of Continental Europe. Our day ends with dinner and overnight at Aeropolis or in the villages of Harouda or Karavostasi.

Day six takes us to the stunning Diros Cave. We then head to the Messinian Mani and Kalamata, stopping at Stoupa for a swim. After lunch in Kardamili, we visit the beautiful city of Kalamata and its sights. We end our day with dinner and overnight in Kalamata or Petalidi.

On day seven, we depart for Polylimnio, a complex of many lakes and waterfalls. After a refreshing swim, we head to the beautiful Koroni, with its imposing castle. We then visit Finikounda, Methoni, and the beautiful Pylos. We end our day with dinner and overnight in the settlement of Gialova or in Marathoupolis.

On the eighth day, we depart for the Palace of Nestor, the most well-preserved Mycenaean Palace in Greece. We then visit the majestic forest and Lake Kaiafa. After a quick bath and a light meal, we head to Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. We end our day with dinner and overnight in Olympia.

On day nine, we depart for Killini, known for its thermal spas. We visit the famous medieval castle Chlemoutsi and then head to the coastal forest, the wetland of Strofylia. After a quick bath and a light meal, we head to the city of Patras, where we visit the Roman Conservatory. We end our day with dinner and overnight in Patras.

On the final day, we depart for the coastal village of Diakofto. We take the Cog railway and then continue hiking until Zachlorou, through the natural park of Vouraikos. After enjoying the natural beauties of the village and lunch, we return to Diakofto and head to Loutraki, where we rejuvenate with the world famous thermal water. We then leave for Athens, marking the end of this wonderful multi-day epic tour.
