We loved our tour guide Lazarus. He was funny, caring, and very informative. Pella and Vergina really helped history come alive and we learned a great deal in the museums. They were some of our favorites on our month long excursion. Highly recommend taking this tour. And I’m not even that big on museums! I highly recommend you changing the picture on your advertisement for this tour. It does not do it justice and I almost didn’t sign up because it looked lame.

This is a brilliant tour, seeing the archaeological museums at Pella and Vergina, plus the sites at these two places. If I'd planned this tour myself, I'd have followed this itinerary exactly. This is not a guided tour. You visit the museums and sites yourself and the guide tells you what time to be back at the bus. You're treated like an adult.

Superb exhibition at the Royal Tomb.
All in all a busy day with 2 museums plus the Royal Tomb, and the option to walk 15mins uphill to the site of the Royal Palace.
Experienced and knowledgeable guide leads you thru Hellenic history and sets you up for the site visits.

This tour has been probably the highlight of my trip to Thessaloniki this year. The tour allows you to visit the ruins of Pella and Aigai, plus the archeological museums and the Royal tombs of Macedon. It takes around 8 hours. Our guide for the day, Mr Lazarus, was very approachable, had a sense of humor and gave us quite detailed explanations to help us place the findings in the right historical context.
The time allowed to see the ruins and museums was adequate for us. I would have liked 10 minutes more in Pella but it was enough to see most of the place. Even if you are not keen on ruins the royal tombs of Macedon are breathtaking. Only comparable to Tutankhamen tomb in Egypt IMO. We had lunch in a nice, simple taverna which was inexpensive and willing to serve quickly. I learnt a lot, and it was a great companion to the visit to the archeological Museum in Thessaloniki .

We really enjoyed our day out to Pellas & Vergina. The guide was really knowledgeable, the museums and sites very impressive and a comfortable and easy journey. We would have liked about 45 minutes more in Vergina for a late lunch, as we didn't have enough time to eat as there was so much to see! I will definitely be back to try some other tours, as the staff are friendly and passionate about their country, and the tours well organised. Great day out.

Really enjoyed the tour, much more than I expected. Tour leader did a lot of explanation on the bus of the history then we were able to enjoy the museum, palace and tombs at our own speed. This way we could spend more time on the things we were interested in.
