Premium Cretan Olive Oil Tasting, Wine, Raki and Local Food Tour

My wife and I had an amazing private tour with the local guide who made the whole experience feel authentic and welcoming. We got to try some fantastic local wine (tasting was run by a sommelier), olive oil, and Raki, and each stop was well-planned and enjoyable. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much about life on the island, which made it more than just a tasting tour. It felt like a real insight into Cretan culture. I highly recommend this tour if you want something personal and memorable!

This tour exceeded our expectations. The itinerary, our guide Vangelis planned for us, was wonderful. We were able to interact with the people to learn about their lives and histories in addition to their businesses. The olive grove/factory tour and breakfast was one of the best meals on the trip. The raki visit was very personable and down home. The winery visit (the view and patio area) was amazing and the family running the winery was kind and hospitable. Vangelis's language skill was very good. He was prompt picking us up and we spoke about a wide range of subjects. He gave us a good appreciation of what life was like for the farmers and people in the olive and grape professions. If you want to experience what its like for olive and wine producers and their products then this is the tour for you. After it was over we want to come back during harvest time and help out in the orchards/vineyards!

Strongly recommend this tour, a great opportunity to see traditional places in a relaxed and informative manor.

One tip, don’t eat too much before you go as the platter at the olive oil tasting was fabulous; generous portions, as well as snacks at the wine tasting and lunch at a taverna afterwards.

This was such a well put together tour, we enjoyed experience and it gave us an insight into life on Crete. From exploring olive trees, vineyards and an 100 year old shack each part of the trip was carefully planned and executed. We would def book again and recommend others book too!

We were picked up by the amazing Vangelis with Creta Maze who showed us the friendliest welcome and gave us an extremely comfortable journey to the first stop, the olive oil farm. We were showed around the olive trees by a very informative guide and then had our very own tasting experience- very delicious food accompanied with their fantastic local olive oil. We then went on a trip to a local winery and again had a very detailed tour around the grape vines on site, the wine cellar and then a 1-1 wine tasting experience- this was our first time doing wine tasting but that did not matter as the amazing guide showed us exactly what to do! Next up was the raki distillery, plenty of tasting experience and the amazing Vangelis showed us around and taught us the whole process of how they make Raki (we even had the opportunity to buy a few bottles!) Last on the tour was a dinner at a local Greek restaurant where the food was absolutely outstanding. The whole trip was a perfect day out and everyone involved was extremely friendly. My partner suffers with a bad back and getting in and out of a car can be a struggle, but Vangelis went above and beyond to help her, which made the trip extra special. Creta Maze really gave us an amazing, comfortable day with memories we will hold onto for a lifetime!
