A Tour Leader's ultimate aim is to ensure everyone is well looked after and have a fantastic trip. They are there to ensure that the tour logistics run smoothly, that health and safety is adhered to and provide comprehensive briefings at the beginning and throughout the tour.
The following excursions and/or activities are usually available and may be arranged locally. Estimated costs are provided below for guidance only, are on a per person basis unless shown otherwise, and may depend on the number of participants. Prices quoted are correct as of the date these tour notes were originally issued but may change at any time due to currency fluctuations. Please note: These activities are booked and paid for direct with the supplier and do not form part of your Explore holiday contract.

Liapades Beach - Boat trip up west coast (depending on numbers booked) €15, (6 people min.); Agios georgios Wind surfer hire €10-12per hour.
All accommodation, activities and meals that are shown in the itinerary are included in the total cost of your trip You will also receive a complimentary transfer to and from the airport if you arrive on day 1 of the trip and depart on the last day and have provided your international flight information.

Day 1 – Day 1: Arrival in Corfu Town

Begin your Greek adventure in the elegant island capital of Corfu Town. If you arrive early, explore the charming Old Quarter, with its cobblestone streets, Venetian architecture, and pastel-hued buildings. Don't miss the Venetian forts, Paleo Frourio and Neo Frourio, which flank the old port. Our tour leader will meet you at the hotel reception at 7pm for a welcome meeting and dinner. If you need an airport transfer, please arrange to arrive at Corfu International Airport, which is just a ten-minute drive from the hotel.
Day 2 – Day 2: Corfu Town to Asprokavos

Leave Corfu Town behind and head south to start our hike just south of Kavos. The trail leads to the southern tip of the island, where you'll find the ruins of the Arkoudillas Monastery. From there, follow the footpath down to Corfu's southernmost beach, a stunning stretch of golden sand and crystal-clear waters. Continue your walk through agricultural land to Spartera and on to Asprokavos, where you'll stay in a simple resort-style hotel with a bar, restaurant, and swimming pool.

Today's walk takes you from Asprokavos to Santa Barbara, crossing the southern part of the island. Along the way, enjoy a peaceful walk around a lake, descend through olive groves to Lefkimmi, and explore the lush green valley of the Gardeno River. The final stretch of the walk offers stunning views of both the east and west coasts of Corfu. Your accommodation in Santa Barbara is a simple studio attached to a traditional family taverna, located close to the beach.

Today's trail takes you along the beach, through sand dunes covered with cedar trees, and across a footbridge to Lake Korission. From there, follow tracks and sections of roads to reach Paramonas, a small fisherman's hamlet on the west coast. Your accommodation is a simple apartment surrounded by fruit trees, with sea views from the ground-floor terrace and just a short walk from the beach.
Day 5 – Day 5: Paramonas to Benitses

After breakfast, set off for Benitses. The day's walk includes a sharp climb over the coastal ridge, a descent through Vouniatades, and a crossing of the Messongi River Valley. The trail then heads uphill again to Komianata, before descending to the picturesque fishing village of Benitses.

From Benitses, take a bus back to Stavros and continue your walk around the Agii Deka Mountain. The trail includes a sharp ascent to the summit of Agii Deka, Corfu's second highest peak, where you can rest in an abandoned monastery. The trail then leads to Agii Deka village and Sinarades, before offering stunning views over the west coast and inland to Pelekas. From Pelekas, take the bus back to your accommodation in Benitses.
Day 7 – Day 7: Benitses to Liapades

On the final day of walking, head to Liapades. The day starts with a bus ride to Pelekas, followed by a descent to Myrtiotissa Beach. After a steep ascent, pass through the village of Vatos and the Ropa river valley, before ascending to Giannades and finally descending to Liapades. Your accommodation is close to Liapades beach, surrounded by green hillsides and with a beautiful pebble beach, small cafes, and a handful of restaurants nearby.
Day 8 – Day 8: Departure from Liapades

Your tour of Corfu ends today in Liapades. You're free to depart at any time. If your flight is later in the day, luggage storage facilities are available at our hotel. For airport transfers, please arrange to depart from Corfu International Airport, which is a 30-minute drive from our hotel.
