3 Days Gems of South Iceland

We commence our journey from Reykjavík, heading to South Iceland. From there, we take a ferry to the Westman Islands, where we explore the village of Heimaey. We delve into the history of the 1973 volcanic eruption, walk up the volcano crater, and visit the 'Pompei of the North'. Spend the afternoon exploring the town of Heimaey before we return to the mainland. We spend the night in South Iceland, at the Stracta Hotel (or similar). Breakfast is included.

Our day begins with a visit to the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. We then head to the village of Vík, where we attend the unique Iceland Lava Show. We stroll along the black lava beach at Reynisfjara and admire the basalt columns and rock formations. In the afternoon, we visit Skogar, where we explore the folk museum and the magnificent Skógafoss waterfall. Optionally, you can join a glacier hike at Sólheimajökull glacier tongue. We spend the night at the Stracta Hotel (or similar) in South Iceland. Breakfast is included.

Today, we venture into the highlands of Landmannalaugar, a region known for its rhyolite mountains. We embark on a 90-minute hike up Brenninsteinsalda, a vibrant volcanic mountain. After a picnic lunch, you can unwind in a natural geothermal stream. We also visit the picturesque Hjálparfoss waterfall, surrounded by unique basalt rock formations. Breakfast and a packed lunch are included.
