Christmas Land Of The Northern Lights - 5 days

This morning, meet your tour guide and explore some of Reykjavik's highlights. Then, venture to the Reykjanes Peninsula, known for its hot springs, picturesque mountains, bird cliffs, lighthouses, and quaint fishing villages. Relax in the warm blue waters of the Blue Lagoon. In the evening, celebrate Christmas the Icelandic way in the villages of Hvolsvöllur and Hella, witnessing traditional Christmas lights and enjoying a sumptuous 4-course dinner with sparkling wine. With any luck, you might also see the Northern Lights.

Travel along the South Coast and visit the active volcano beneath the Eyjafjallajökull glacier. See the high but narrow Seljalandsfoss waterfall and explore the Skógar Folk Museum with its turf houses. Visit the impressive 60-meter high Skógafoss waterfall. In the afternoon, opt for a glacier hike on the Sólheimajökull glacier tongue or continue to the famous Black Lava Beach at Reynisfjara, observe the Cap of Dyrhólaey and the Reynisdrangar Sea Cliffs before visiting the charming village of Vík. In the evening, if the night is clear, step into the garden to see if the Northern Lights are visible.

This morning, learn about the indigenous Icelandic horse and its history and special qualities. Visit a geothermal greenhouse before traveling the famous Golden Circle route. Witness steam rising from the Geysir geothermal fields and see Strokkur erupt at 5-10 minute intervals. Continue to Gullfoss, a double waterfall that tumbles 34 meters into the Hvita River. Travel inland to Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to Reykjavik for one night and enjoy a dining experience with local Icelandic cuisine.
