Hornstrandir Traverse

We start our journey from Ísafjörður harbor, sailing to Hornvík Bay. En route, we'll witness the stunning coastline and bays of Hornstrandir, once home to our ancestors. We'll hike up to the Hornbjarg bird cliffs and Mt. Miðfell, offering breathtaking views of the bay. Our adventure continues with a climb to the peak of Kálfatindar, rewarding us with panoramic views of the North coast of Iceland and the Drangajökull Glacier. We'll end the day at our camp with a well-deserved dinner.

After breakfast, we'll hike past the Drífandi waterfall, where tales of polar bear encounters will be shared. We'll then traverse the Innstidalur Valley and Almenningar Pass, leading us to the edge of the cliffs. Our journey continues to the Látravík lighthouse, where we'll enjoy lunch and the scenic views. After a good break, we'll head back to basecamp for a rewarding barbecue on the beach.

We'll start the day with a leisurely morning before saying goodbye to Hornvík Bay. We'll then traverse to the fjord of Veiðileysufjörður in the South, hiking up the Hafnarskarð Pass. From the pass, we'll get a stunning view of our final destination. After a fun snow ride down the other side, we'll follow the path down to the fjord where our boat will pick us up for a journey back to Ísafjörður.
