We kick off our adventure at Reykjavík's City Hall at 7 a.m., before embarking on a scenic bus ride to Landmannalaugar. Along the way, we'll pass Hekla, Iceland's most active volcano. Our hike begins in the geothermal wonderland of Landmannalaugar, where we'll traverse the rough lava field of Laugahraun and the colorful slopes of Brennisteinsalda. We'll also visit the hot spring Storihver and cross the obsidian desert to reach Hrafntinnusker, where we'll spend the night in a remote hut.

After breakfast, we'll set out for a hike along the Reykjafjoll mountains and descend into the vibrant Jökultungur area. We'll leave the colorful rhyolite mountains behind and enter a region of dark palagonite mountains with stunning glacier views. We'll then hike up to Mt. Haskerdingur for a panoramic view of countless glaciers, mountains, and volcanoes. We'll end the day at the beautiful lake Álftavatn, where we'll spend the night.

We'll start the day with a refreshing stream crossing as we make our way past the green volcano Stórasúla and into the black desert of Mælifellssandur. We'll walk through this black glacial desert and into Emstrur, where we'll have a chance to enjoy a view of Eyjafjallajokull and Myrdalsjokull glaciers. Just before reaching the huts in Botnar, we'll take a detour to admire Markarfljótsgljúfur, a deep canyon carved out by the glacial river Markarfljót.

On our final day, we'll leave Emstrur behind and continue our journey to Thorsmork. As we descend towards Almenningar, we'll get a glimpse of the great Myrdalsjokull glacier. We'll walk under the distinctive mountain Einhyrningur and into the dense birch forest in Thorsmork, a green valley nestled under the glaciers Eyjafjallajokull and Myrdalsjokull. After soaking in the last views of the highlands, we'll board a bus back to Reykjavik, where our adventure concludes.
