Lights of Iceland - fly & drive

Welcome to Iceland! Upon arrival, pick up your rental car and head to the heart of Reykjavik, the country's capital. Spend the day exploring this charming city at your own pace. Don't forget to request a wakeup call from your hotel when the Northern Lights grace the night sky. You may also opt for an excursion to the famous Blue Lagoon. Your accommodation for the night will be at the Fosshotel Reykjavik or similar.

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before heading to the Northern Lights Center in Reykjavik. Gain insights into this natural spectacle before setting off on the Golden Circle route. Visit the historic Thingvellir National Park, marvel at the Strokkur Geyser, and witness the majestic Gullfoss Waterfall. End your day with a relaxing dip in the Secret Lagoon. Overnight stay will be at the Selfoss Hotel or similar.

After breakfast, set off towards the south coast of Iceland, famous for its stunning landscapes and as a filming location for the Game of Thrones series. Visit the Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls, and take a photo stop at the Eyjafjallajökull volcano. Explore the Skógar Museum and pass through Dyrholaey, the southernmost tip of Iceland. Walk on the black sand beach of Reynisfjara and end your day in Vik, where you can shop for woolen clothing and accessories. After breakfast, prepare for a day of adventure as you head to Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier. Explore the stunning Skaftafell National Park and witness the glacier tongues reaching the shore. Continue to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and marvel at the luminous icebergs drifting by. Don't miss a photo stop at the Diamond Beach before returning to your hotel. After breakfast, return to the west and the capital, Reykjavik. En route, make a short stop at the small town of Hveragerdi, known for its geological activity. Explore the Reykjanes peninsula, the youngest part of Iceland, and visit the Lava Show to experience a miniature volcanic eruption.
