A fantastic experience right in the heart of the barolo region and a short walk to the town center which we did prior to the tasting.
The explanation and history by one of the family members was very detailed and thorough. The tasting was also extensive with five different types of wine as well as grapa and a very nice food tasting to pair ( cheese, cookies, chestnuts, breads and olive). A very nice tour - we had no car so had to get organise a taxi (approx €40 each way) to Alba. Still well worth the visit and beautiful scenery. Ps. Go prior to sunset to see the change in colour and on the town lots of small bars and walking tracks.

We enjoyed learning about the history of this vineyard. Seeing how the wine making process has changed throughout the years and viewing the old machinery. Our guide was very knowledgeable.

It was the first time my husband and I went to a winery. We went to this winery with friends from Geneva. Even though language was supposed to be only English and an Italian the owner also spoke French for our Swiss friends. Price included the food charcuterie - cheese, smoked prosciutto , hazelnuts, little pieces of bread with olive oil, olives, hazelnuts and amaretto cookies. The winery produces red and white wine, sparkling wine, grappa, a sweet wine, olive oil, hazelnuts. After the tour you were able to go in another building on the property to buy any of the things you tasted. It was a beautiful hot sunny day and it was a wonderful experience. Owner was very knowledgeable ,very nice and respectful. We all enjoyed ourselves.

We had a lovely time.
Wines were lovely and nibbles to boot! Can’t go wrong for the price.
We were expecting the wine to be expensive to buy at the end but they weren’t and there was absolutely no pressure to buy anything.
Amazing family business making quality products. Would recommend a visit.

We had a great time at the vineyard! The first part was an interesting explanation about the region of Barolo and the different types of Nebbiolo. The second part was an extensive tasting. Thank you for the amazing afternoon, would definitely recommend!

Carlo was spectcaular, highlight of the trip. Carlo knew everything there is to know about wine and the vineyard. We got lucky and ended up with a private tour which was so lovely. We got to taste 8 wines and 2 spirits alongside some local meat, cheeses, the olive oil they produce and the olives, bread and biscuits made from hazelnuts they grow as well as the hazelnuts themselves. We turned up and the booking agent had not told Carlo we were coming and yet he had a table ready in less than 10 minutes, we couldn’t have asked him to be any more accommodating. We would highly recommend to anyone. We traveled from Turin and it was worth the hour trip and we would definitely come again. Thank you Carlo!

Wonderful tour by Carlo at his family winery, Sobrero Vini. Our tour was scheduled for Sunday morning and we were the only people to join, so it was private and personable. He is incredibly knowledgeable of their wine and the region. The tasting was better than expected and we bought 2 bottles and their farmed hazelnuts on our way out. We stayed at another vineyard so we had to taxi to the vineyard, which was a little pricey (40 EUR), but expected for the area cabs. We did other tours in the area and this one far outweighed the others.

Beautiful views of the valley and vineyard in the Barolo region.
Great wine, of course.
Knowledgeable and patient host (thanks Carlo!).
You should go.

Piedmont is an area where artisan cuisine and wine such as Nebiolo are regional specialties. Slow food has evolved as a way of presenting wonderful specialties, it's become a manner of using local ingredients that leads Italy, indeed the world. Slow food is favored by locals and visitors who appreciate artisan cuisine. We enjoyed slow food, it's quite delicious, particularly in colder climates.
