Venice: Murano Island and Glass Factory Private Guided Tour

Ce n’est en aucun cas une visite privée de la verrerie. Le transport est privé et c’est tout. Nous arrivons dans la verrerie via un accès privé. Au final, on est debout sur le côté et on voit moins bien que si on avait choisi une visite classique. On pensait tous qu’on était en avance et qu’on aurait une visite privée par la suite. La visite est juste une démonstration. C’est vraiment dommage, sans divulguer le précieux savoir faire de Murano, on aurait apprécié un peu d’histoire de l’entreprise et son évolution. Rien, aucune information. On voit quelqu’un souffler 2 éléments et on est vite envoyé dans la boutique. On était franchement dégoûté. On est sorti. La guide était étonnée, elle nous a emmené avec elle faire un tour de l’île. Elle a pu répondre à toutes nos interrogations sur Venise, ses traditions, le tourisme et ses impactes. C’était très enrichissant, nous l’en remercions. Au final, je déconseille fortement cette activité.

The water taxi and views were great. The glass factory tour interesting but very brief with a disinterested guide who was more interested in trying to sell us stuff than tell us about glass making. We had 2 guides for reasons that weren’t clear who seemed self conscious of each other. Their English was ok but could have been better.

Our guide was wonderful. She was helpful and knowledgeable!! The boat ride to the island was great fun! The actual visit to the glass factory was very disappointing. We paid extra for a private tour which caused the demonstration to be shortened to show only two blown glass pieces - a total of maybe 10 minutes of demo. After that the factory representative just took us around to see the glass display but it felt like a sales ploy. The only piece of glass I was interested in was the beautiful clear glass vase made in the demo- but he melted it immediately. There was nothing like it in the gift shop - so I left without a piece of Murano glass. I would not recommend this tour.

Our guide Graziella was really great! Very professional, very friendly and a real local who has been organizing the discovery of her jewel city for over 30 years! Very patient with young children! We loved our private tour of Murano! We had done it 15 years ago and felt like we were seeing another city! It was great! A big thank you Venice Tours and Graziella!

Our tour guide was great. She was very knowledgeable and provided good insights on the area. I would like to have had some more time on Murano after the blowing demonstration. It did feel a little rushed. Other than that, it was great!
