Hiking on Florence Tuscany hills

Smashing hike and day out. totally worth every penny. Stefano is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The hike was very well organised and the places we visited were out of this world: exactly how I imagined rural Tuscany to be, look and taste like. We're a vegan group and Stefano ensured that the wines we tasted and the meals we had (all absolutely exceptional!) were vegan. I cannot praise Out of the Box enough for doing such a wonderful job!

Lorenzo is a superb guide. He has tremendous knowledge of the natural and man made locale. He brought great positive energy to our walk. The meal at the end of the walk featured superb pasta. This trip was the highlight of our Florence stay. We would do it again.

What a beautiful morning walking ancient pathways away from the crowds if Florence! Our guide Lorenzo was a wealth of information! He pointed out flowers and herbs and wild foods growing along our paths as well as sharing the most picturesque view points!

Amazing morning spent in the hills of Tuscany!! Stefano was so knowledgeable about the area and gave a wonderful tour!! Not to mention “the secret bench” with a bottle of Chianti, snacks and a breathtaking view of Florence. Topped off with a farm-table organic lunch. What a treat!! Highly recommend!!!

Get away from the madding crowd and hike the hills around Florence. We enjoyed our guide and his perspectives on history and the natural world. And lunch - lunch was good.

Just a beautiful experience walking through the hills of Fiesole away from the crowds and heat of Firenze. The guide, Stefano was very nice and knowledgeable about the Etruscan and Roman history of the area and there were interesting paths, amazing view and stone quarries to see. It was really so nice to be up in the peaceful, cool hills in nature just trekking. Stefano was also very patient on the trek with me and we took our time. Lastly, he also arranged for a lovely lunch at an agroturismo restaurant. The food was very freshly cooked and flavorful. A great day and a wonderful guide.

Stefano took 4 of us on a fantastic hike through the Florence hills in April (late posting I know)! It was exhilarating to see Florence from the hills and after touring Italy, a great way to use our bodies for something other than eating and drinking. The only downside is once we were back in Florence, the city felt crowded and loud and I was ready to head back to the hills. Stefano is a great guide who pulled out some surprises along the way. I highly recommend this tour as a way to see Florence from a new viewpoint!

The views from Mount ceceri of course were incredible but the best part of this trip was our interaction with our guide Stefano. He was interesting personable and well prepared and took care of us very well under difficult circumstances.very hot weather.

If you read the other reviews, two things will become apparent immediately:

1) the hikes Stefano offers are unique and memorable

2) Stefano is a great guy

I'm happy to say that both of these things are true. Stefano's love for this part of Tuscany is infectious, and it was a real privilege to spend the morning hiking through woods and across fields with him. The scenery, with the views back over Florence, is spetacular. But Stefano may be the real treasure. He's so welcoming, funny and knowledgeable that you feel like you've known him your whole life.

Discovering the hills above the city of Florence is a unique experience.

Lunch was at a beautiful restaurant in the hills, it was delicious and great atmosphere. What a stupendous experience. Highly recommended.
