Amazing!

The tour of the blue lagoon was amazing. It was a very cold day but we were well looked after. The boat skipper and the transfer driver were both great. The transfer driver noted I was a lone traveller and made sure I was accounted for and included in the return journey. I really appreciated that extra effort to make sure I wasn’t left behind!

Absolutely fabulous day from start to finish. Picked up from hotel on time, lovely sails across the water and a great tuk tuk tour with our host Joe.

Joe was very knowledgable and spoke great English. He even acknowledged my fiancés birthday in a local restaurant.

We covered all the island.

Hats off to all involved👏👏

Amazing!

It was a breezy experience. Visited the island via ferry. It is very different from Malta island. Had some Gozitan food. It has a more Italian influence than Malta. Also went to a market and tasted different kinds of liquor. Was able to get back in time before dinner and the midnight mass. Highly recommend!!!!

Amazing!

Having visited Gozo several times over the years, I was looking for something different to do. I came across Yippee tours via a Google search, a tour company I’d not heard of before. Looking at the itinerary, I booked for today, Wednesday 15th January. I am staying at the Canifor Hotel, so my pick up point was the Qawra Palace Hotel which is a pretty common place to be collected from. A short walk down to the hotel, our driver arrived bang on time and picked up other guests from several hotels along the way. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t allow us to travel on the Yippee boat via Comino, nothing can be done about that, it’s a chance you take but more common in the winter months. We were guided to the Gozo ferry for the 25 minute crossing where a Yippee rep would meet us at the terminal. I immediately saw the rep on arrival and was introduced to Joe, who would be our Tuk Tuk driver for the day. I wouldn’t class myself as having limited mobility, however I am overweight and sometimes struggle getting on and off certain modes of transport. I did find the Tuk Tuk hard to get in and out of, and with the numerous stops along the way I was a bit anxious about it. Keep that in mind if you do have limited mobility or are a larger person. That being said, I managed it but I always spotted Joe out of the corner of my eye hovering discreetly ready to jump in and help if needed. He didn’t make me feel self conscious or embarrassed, and I appreciated his unspoken offer of help.

Joe was a brilliant guide, a native Gozitian his knowledge was second to none, giving us facts and figures along the way.

Lunch was included, along with water and wine. Traditional Gozitian fare such as tomato paste, bread, olives and capers, followed by a baked pasta dish with a rice tomato sauce, and cookies for dessert.

I felt I truly got value for money with this tour. You can’t put a price on Joe’s knowledge. And the sights we saw were beautiful. Some of the more popular tourist attractions but also some hidden gems off the beaten track such as the Salt Pans near Marsalforn, and the Sannap Cliffs with a nice, flatish walk overlooking Xlendi Bay.

We finished up at the Citadel in Victoria, a place that had eluded me in all my years of coming to Malta as I couldn’t face walking up the big hill to get there, but this tour took us almost to the door and I finally got to see the view.

Coming back, we were handed our ferry tickets and again were met by reps who directed us to our respective minibuses where we were safely dropped off back where we started 8 hours prior. Everything was timed to perfection, even the stops along the way. Nothing was rushed and we were allowed ample time to take photos and appreciate the beauty of Gozo.

Finally, thank you Joe, your kindness was genuine which unfortunately is hard to come by nowadays. You made my trip extra special and I felt very safe with you around.
