Kotor: Blue Cave Private Boat Tour

Good to know

In certain situations, such as challenging weather conditions or high sea waves, the tour itinerary may need to be adjusted and the visit to the Blue Cave may have to be skipped. This is done to ensure the safety and comfort of guests on the tour In April, May, September, and October, the church of Our Lady of the Rocks and the museum are open until 5 pm, but you can still visit the island. In June it is open until 6 pm, and in July and August it is open until 7 pm. Sometimes they close it earlier. The Blue Cave water after 6 pm is not the same as it is during daylight It is recommended that you dress warmer during the spring and autumn months because it can be chilly The tour could be canceled if weather is unfavorable Please be aware that finding a parking spot in Kotor during the summer season can be quite challenging For the visit to the church, there is a dress code, and you cannot enter in a swimsuit Note: Skip the line does not apply for entrance to Our Lady of the Rocks

We booked the private tour, so we were on our own. The group tours all started at 3 p.m. and that was too tight for us because our ship didn't officially dock until 2:30 p.m. The park where various tours start is 3 minutes from the dock. We were able to start right away (45 minutes earlier than booked), which was great of course! Our guide told us a bit about the history and the sights along the way. The boats were crowded at the blue grotto. The grotto is great with the blue water and sun, but there are far too many boats there. The group tours for €20-50 per person all bathed between the boats at the exit of the cave. Luckily, we were able to bathe alone in the same turquoise water in the next bay. After bathing, we were given a cup of still water to drink - that could definitely be improved for the individual price. The 3 hours on the boat were a great experience overall!

Super nice captain, everything very relaxed, if you want to do a tour like this with 5 people, then a private tour is definitely worth it!!

Amazing!

You have the boat for yourself with the captain. They allow you to play your own music and bring some drinks/snacks onboard. The captain was really good, explained the local attractions and any questions we had. The sea was rough but he managed to find a nice stop for us to swim at the entrance of the submarine base. It’s worth the price, for an enjoyable experience if you are not a fan of crowded tour excursions packed like sardines in a boat.
