4 days in charming Alesund

Your journey begins at the international airport Vigra, Alesund, where you'll meet your tour leader. From there, you'll travel to the legendary Viking's Islands, where you'll learn about the rich history and mythology of the region. You'll also visit the Marble Church, a 12th-century marvel. After a scenic drive through subsea tunnels, you'll reach the top of Aksla Mountain, offering panoramic views of Alesund and the surrounding islands. After a meal at the Fjellestua restaurant, you'll descend to the city of Alesund, known for its Art Nouveau architecture. You'll spend the night in a conveniently located hotel in the city center (or similar).

Your second day begins with a full-day round trip from Alesund to Geiranger. You'll start with a photo stop at Storfjord, where the fjord divides into two sleeves, embracing Strandafjellet Mountain. From there, you'll proceed along the coastline, through mountain tunnels to the ferry pier. As you cross the fjord, you'll have the opportunity to capture memorable photos from the ferry deck. You'll then head to the Ørnesvingen viewing point, offering breathtaking views of Geiranger and the Geirangerfjord. After a 2-hour stay in Geiranger, you'll visit the Flydalsjuvet gorge, where you can sit on the throne of Queen Sonya. You'll return to Alesund around 17:00 or 18:00.

Day three is yours to explore Alesund at your own pace. After a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, your tour leader will provide suggestions for activities based on the weather and your interests. You could try fishing in the fjords, visit the Atlantic Park, go shopping at the Moa Shopping Center, or explore the medieval village of Sunnmore. You could also take a fjord cruise or visit the islands of Treasure Runde or Ona. In the evening, we recommend dining at the XL Dinner restaurant, known for its delicious Bacalao dish.
