Cape Verde's Northern Islands - Privately Guided

Upon arrival at Sao Vicente airport, you'll be transferred to your accommodation in Mindelo. After a briefing from your private guide, spend the evening exploring the charming cobbled streets and colonial architecture of this vibrant fishing village. End your day with a stunning sunset over the beach. Overnight at Terra Lodge (or similar) in Mindelo.

Travel by boat from Mindelo to Porto Novo on Santo Antao Island. From there, transfer to Ribeira de Janela and begin your guided walk through the Penede valley, crossing high balconies and descending past coffee farms and mountain villages. In the afternoon, transfer to Vila das Pombas for your overnight stay at Hotel Paul Mar (or similar).

A short transfer brings you to the lush Paul Valley. Walk through small paths from hamlet to hamlet, passing cultivated terraces in Cabo de Ribeira. Enjoy a special lunch in Figuerial with a local family, sampling homegrown produce. Return to the Atlantic Ocean coastline for the evening. Overnight at Hotel Paul Mar (or similar) in Vila das Pombas.

Transfer through the mountainous valleys of Ribeira Grande and Garca to Cruzinha. Begin your walk along an impressive path overlooking the ocean, with a picnic lunch in the serene Corvo Valley. Continue to Fontainhas, known for its colorful houses, and end your day in Ponta do Sol. Overnight at Tiduca Hotel (or similar) in Ponta do Sol.

Start your day with a transfer to Ribeira da Torre, known for its green landscapes and volcanic peak. Discover this incredible area before walking through cane fields and along irrigation canals. Enjoy lunch with a local family before transferring to Tarrafal on the western shore of Santo Antao. Overnight at Kasa Baobab (or similar) in Tarrafal.

Walk along the coast under the shadow of the island's summit, a nearly 2,000m high volcano, to reach Monte Trigo. This isolated fishing village offers a sweeping black sand beach and spectacular views over the Cape Verde Islands. Return to Tarrafal by boat with local fishermen. Overnight at Kasa Baobab (or similar) in Tarrafal.

Enjoy a morning walk through the fields of Tarrafal Valley, observing the ingenious terraces and irrigation channels built by local farmers. In the afternoon, transfer back to Porto Novo for your return boat to Mindelo. Spend your final night on Sao Vicente at Terra Lodge (or similar) in Mindelo.

You'll be collected from your accommodation and transferred to Sao Vicente airport for your flight home, carrying unforgettable memories of the Cape Verdean islands.
