We kick off our journey in Bucharest, heading to the ancient town of Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria. Here, we explore the historic Tsarevets Fortress and the charming Samovodene Street, known for its local craftsmen. Our next stop is the nearby village of Arbanassi, where we visit the Nativity Church and the Konstantsalieva House. We then return to Bucharest for a panoramic city tour, taking in the city's vibrant sights and sounds. We spend the night in Bucharest, resting up for the adventures ahead.

Leaving Bucharest, we journey to the town of Curtea de Arges, where we visit the stunning Curtea de Arges Monastery, often compared to the Sagrada Familia. We then venture up to the Poienari Citadel, known as the 'real' Castle of Dracula, offering stunning views and a rich history. Our day concludes in the charming Sibiu Old Town, where we take a leisurely stroll through its historic streets. We spend the night in Sibiu, soaking in the town's tranquil atmosphere.

We start our day with a visit to the magnificent Hunyadi Castle, a gothic masterpiece considered among the top 10 most beautiful castles in the world. We then delve deeper into history with a visit to the Densus Church, the oldest church in Romania. Our day ends in Alba Iulia, a city steeped in ancient Roman history and home to a star-shaped Vauban fortress. We spend the night in Alba Iulia, dreaming of the historical wonders we've discovered.

Our journey takes us to Maramures, a region known for its stunning landscapes and warm hospitality. We start by descending into the Turda Salt Mines, a unique underground theme park. We then explore the Old City Centre of Cluj, one of Transylvania's largest and most important cities. Our next stop is the Surdesti Wooden Church, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We end the day in Vadu Izei, where we enjoy a home-cooked meal and overnight stay at a charming bed and breakfast.

We start our day with a tour of Chisinau, exploring its bustling streets and charming squares. In the afternoon, we head to the Cricova Wine Cellars, one of the largest and most impressive underground wine cellars in Europe. Here, we enjoy a wine tasting, sampling some of the best Romanian-made wines. We bet you'll love them so much that you'll want to bring a few bottles home. We return to Chisinau for the night, with the taste of fine wine still lingering on our palates.

We embark on a day trip to Tiraspol, the center of the self-proclaimed Transnistria Republic. Here, we explore the city's unique culture and history, taking in its distinctive Soviet-era architecture and vibrant street life. We return to Chisinau for the night, reflecting on the fascinating insights we've gained into this lesser-known region.

We leave the Republic of Moldavia and head back to Romania. Along the way, we stop to visit several historical monuments, including the Agapia, Varatec, and Neamt monasteries. These monasteries are renowned for their beautiful architecture and serene atmosphere. We spend the night in Piatra Neamt, a charming city nestled in the Eastern Carpathians.

We leave Piatra Neamt and head towards Transylvania, following the breathtaking Bicaz Gorges. This picturesque path carved into the mountain offers stunning views and photo opportunities. We then continue to Sighisoara, a perfectly preserved medieval citadel. We take a guided tour through the historical center of the city, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We spend the night in Sighisoara, soaking in the city's medieval charm.

We leave Viscri and head to the recently restored Rupea Fortress, a testament to Romania's medieval past. We then visit Bran Castle, famously known as Dracula's Castle, where we explore its fascinating history and legends. We also take a walk through the local bazaar, sampling and buying delicious local products. We spend the night in Brasov, a city that perfectly blends history and modernity.
