One day trip Bear Sanctuary, Dracula Castle, Rasnov Fortress from Brasov

The tour was great - the communication with the tour guide was very good, the pick-up was on time and the drive from place to place was smooth.

Keep in mind that for each of the places (Bran castle & Bear sanctuary) you will enter by yourself - but that's ok.

The Bear Sanctuary has their own guide, tickets need to be bought in advance).

Bran Castle was not too crowded - we also visited the Torture Museum, which was quite interesting as well.

The Rasnov fortress is currently closed, but it was still nice to see and enjoy the view from the top (and even play some of the games around it, which was quite fun).

Our tour guide waited for us patiently to explore as we wanted, take photos etc. - we didn't feel rushed from one place to the next. He also shared some info for each of the places before going in.

We would definitely recommend the tour, especially if you don't have a car or don't want to drive yourself.

The bear sanctuary is at once poignant due to the former suffering of the rescued bears, and heartening thanks to their new environment. Bran Castle is a fascinating window on several centuries of Romanian history. Catalin is a very knowledgeable and affable guide. All good!

Amazing trip from start to finish; our guide Cătălin had a great knowledge of the Brasov area, and more importantly, gave us loads of time at each of the stops and didn’t rush us at all.

The Bear Sanctuary was a great place to start and it was lovely to see so many of the rescued bears that now reside there in safety. Shame on anyone who has ever had their photo taken next to a captive bear. Some of the stories were horrendous to hear. At the end of the tour there is also the chance to adopt a bear for a year.

Bran Castle was everything we expected it to be, and was majestic in the September sunshine. Again, our guide gave us extra time here to take as many photos as we wanted and to browse the souvenir stalls outside the castle grounds.

On to Rasnov and although the actual citadel is currently closed for refurbishment, it was great to go up the rather scary funicular and walk around the walls of the fortress as the views of the surrounding mountains were spectacular.

After a short drive back to Brasnov, Cătălin dropped us off at our hotel. And later that evening, on a recommendation from our guide, we had a fantastic authentic Romanian meal in his favourite restaurant in the main square of the old town.

It was an excellent day trip where it felt like a private taxi tour around lovely Braşov. Our guide was friendly and helpful and was always waiting for us, being flexible with timings and giving us great advice. Would definitely recommend!

It was lovely! Our guide Cătălin was very kind and very knowledgable about all the tour stops. It was nice to go in a small group and have such a personal experience. The highlight for me was the Libearty Bear Sanctuary, but Bran Castle was a close second! Be sure to wear confortable walking shoes because you will be doing a lot of walking and stairs. Maybe bring a snack and a water.

Bear sanctuary was amazing. The bears were beautiful even if they had harrowing stories to tell. A real privilege to be close to these animals.

Bran castle is great but can be very busy. You have to follow a one way system so be careful not to get rushed along. I highly recommend paying extra for the medieval torture rooms

Râşnov fortress offers great views. Unfortunately you cannot go inside.

Great day out. Our guide was great helping us choose tickets and plan our day. The liberty bear sanctuary is fantastic and so passionate . Good shoes needed for all of trip as rocky slopes.

Bran Castle was interesting...just nothing to do with Dracula but interesting about the Royal Family and the Liberty Bear sanctuary was amazing how they save these injured and orphaned bears.

The Bear sanctuary was wonderful and emotional. The bears were beautiful but some of their stories were horrific.

Bran Castle is great but can be extremely busy. You must follow a one way system around the castle and can sometimes be pushed along without fully appreciating what you’re seeing. I highly recommend paying extra for the “Medieval Torture rooms”.

Rasnov Fortress gives great views of the surrounding area.
