Private 15-Day Tour Danube Delta, Transylvania, Maramures and Bucovina with Hotel Pick Up/ Drop Off

After breakfast, we embark on a 3-hour wildlife and bird-watching boat trip in the Danube Delta. We explore the surrounding lakes and canals, offering splendid views of various bird species. Our next stop is the Halmyris Fortress, a significant Roman and Roman-Byzantine fortress located near Murighiol. We learn about its rich history and admire its military, civil, and religious architecture. After a day of exploration, we return to Tulcea for an overnight stay.

Our day starts with a visit to The Bears Sanctuary, located near Piatra Craiului National Park. This sanctuary is home to around 100 rescued bears, offering them a new and better life. We then head to Râșnov Fortress, a citadel built by Teutons in the 13th century. We explore its courtyards, ramparts, and admire the sweeping views from the walls. Our next stop is Bran village, where we visit the famous Bran Castle, also known as Dracula's Castle. We explore its well-preserved rooms and chambers, and learn about the legends associated with it. After a day full of exploration, we return to Brasov for an overnight stay.

Today, we visit Ohaba village, where we see an old water mill still in use by the locals. We then stop at Lisa village, where we visit a family household that has been processing wool fabric for over 100 years. We learn about their traditional methods and see how wool fabrics are washed and combed. Our next stop is Fagaras, where we visit the Fagaras Fortress, one of the strongest fortifications in Transylvania. We explore its beautifully preserved structure and learn about its history. We end our day in Sibiel village, where we enjoy a 3-course dinner, homemade wine, and traditional plum brandy. Overnight stay at Ramona guest house (or similar).

Our journey today takes us to Hunedoara, where we visit Hunyadi Caroom, one of the seven wonders of Romania. We then head to Alba Iulia, where we explore its star-shaped citadel, one of Transylvania's most overlooked sights. We admire its grand monuments, glittering churches, and archaeological treasures. We end our day in Garda de Sus, where we spend the night in a 3-star guest house (or similar).

Today, we explore the Scarisoara Ice Cave, the largest ice cave in Romania, boasting over 3,000-year-old ice. We then visit Casa de Piatra village, known for its natural beauty and unique geological features. We also explore the nearby caves and admire the marvelous landscape. After a day of exploration, we return to Garda de Sus for an overnight stay in a 3-star guest house (or similar).

We start our day with a visit to Turda Salt Mine, one of the largest in Europe and one of the top 10 underground wonders in the world. We then head to Maramures, Romania's most traditional region, dotted with steepled wooden churches and farmhouses. We explore the region's unique culture and traditions, and visit its historical sites. We end our day in Botiza village, where we enjoy a 3-course dinner, traditional plum brandy, and an overnight stay at Cretuca Pension (or similar).

Today, we visit The Merry Cemetery in Săpânța, a UNESCO world heritage site known for its colorful painted wooden crosses. We then explore Breb village and Sârbi village, where we learn about the local traditions and lifestyle. We also visit a 100-year-old mill in Sârbi, which is still functioning today. After a day of exploration, we return to Botiza for an overnight stay at Cretuca Pension (or similar), where we enjoy a 3-course dinner and traditional plum brandy.

We start our day with a visit to Barsana Monastery, then drive through the scenic Borgo Pass. We then head to Bucovina, a region known for its painted monasteries and traditional culture. We visit Humorului Monastery, a UNESCO world heritage site, and learn about its history. We end our day in Gura Humorului, where we enjoy a 3-course dinner, traditional plum brandy, and an overnight stay at Florence de Munte Pension (or similar).

We start our day with a visit to Nicolae Popa Ethnographic Museum in Târgu Neamț. We then head to Bicaz, where we explore the stunning Bicaz Gorges. We drive through the gorges, admiring the sheer limestone cliffs and the pine trees clinging to the rocks. We then head to Sighisoara, a medieval town known for its well-preserved walled old town. We spend the night in Sighisoara at Casa Wagner Hotel (or similar).

Today, we explore Sighisoara's medieval town, including The Clock Tower, The Church on the Hill, and the house where Vlad the Impaler was born. We then visit Viscri, an authentic Transylvanian village, where we explore the oldest fortified church in Transylvania, a UNESCO world heritage site. After a day of exploration, we head to Brasov for an overnight stay.

On our final day, we visit Peles Castle in Sinaia, the summer residence of the former Romanian royal family. We then head to Snagov, where we visit the Snagov Monastery, known as the burial place of Vlad the Impaler. We explore the monastery and learn about its history and legends. We end our tour in Bucharest, where we transfer you to your hotel or OTP International Airport.
