Our Romanian adventure begins in the vibrant city of Bucharest. After a panoramic tour of the city's highlights, we journey through the picturesque Olt River Valley and the Carpathian Mountains, with a brief stop at the 14th-century Cozia Monastery. As we cross into Transylvania, we explore the historic city of Sibiu, a medieval gem with a rich Saxon heritage. We end the day in a charming village outside Sibiu, where we enjoy a traditional meal and overnight in a local guesthouse.

After breakfast, we head to the imposing Corvin's Castle in Hunedoara, the largest medieval castle in Romania. We then visit Alba Iulia, a city steeped in ancient history, before exploring the Turda Salt Mine, one of the world's top underground wonders. We end the day in Turda, where we spend the night in a stylish guesthouse.

We start the day early and head north to Maramures, a region renowned for its wooden churches and preserved customs. We visit the UNESCO-listed wooden churches in Surdesti and Desesti, and the Barsana Monastery. We also explore local crafts and traditions, and end the day in the village of Botiza, where we visit a local home and a sheep farm. Dinner and overnight are in Poienile Izei village.

After breakfast, we visit the Maramures Woman Museum in Dragomiresti, a fascinating insight into local life and traditions. We then cross the Carpathian Mountains to Bucovina, a region famous for its painted monasteries. We visit the UNESCO-listed Moldovita and Sucevita Monasteries, and also explore the Marginea pottery center. We spend the night in a four-star guesthouse in Humorului Village.
