Walking Romania - Transylvanian Alps Trek

Your Romanian adventure begins in Bucharest, the country's vibrant capital. There are no planned activities today, so feel free to explore the city at your leisure. Discover the city's rich history and culture by visiting its numerous museums, including the National Art Gallery. Meet your tour leader at the hotel reception at 6 pm, followed by an optional group dinner.

We depart from Bucharest early in the morning and head to Sinaia, a beautiful mountain resort nestled in the Bucegi Mountains. Here, you'll have the opportunity to visit the stunning Peles Castle, considered one of Europe's most beautiful castles. We then take a short cable car ride to the Bucegi Plateau for our first hike of the trip, ending the day at the Padina mountain hut.

Today's hike takes us through the stunning landscapes of the Piatra Craiului Mountains and the lowlands of Transylvania. We'll pass by natural monuments and various alpine flora and fauna, offering a glimpse into the region's rich biodiversity. After a long day of hiking, we'll be welcomed at our guesthouse in Moieciu with hot food and locally brewed alcohol.

We start the day with an optional visit to Bran Castle, also known as 'Dracula's Castle'. From there, we embark on a hike to the Piatra Craiului Mountains, known for their rich biodiversity and stunning white limestone ridge. We'll spend the night at the Curmatura Hut, nestled in the heart of the Piatra Craiului National Park.

Today, we take a circular walk from our mountain hut to the Piatra Craiului's beautiful limestone ridge. The walk is challenging in parts, but the breathtaking views of the southern Carpathians make it all worthwhile. After a day of exploration, we return to our mountain hut for a well-deserved hot meal and refreshments.

We leave the mountain hut behind and walk back to our guesthouse in Moeciu. Today's walk takes us through the beautiful Zarnesti Gorge, a popular filming location for movies. After a day of hiking, we return to our guesthouse for some well-deserved rest.

We return to Bucharest, where we explore the city's older parts and admire the buildings that have earned it the reputation as the Paris of Eastern Europe. After the city tour, you'll have free time for shopping, relaxing, or further sightseeing.

Your Romanian adventure comes to an end today. After breakfast at our hotel in Bucharest, you are free to depart at any time. If your flight is departing later in the day, luggage storage facilities are available at our hotel.
