Hiking in Slovenia's Julian Alps

Welcome to Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital. Upon arrival, a short taxi ride will take you to your 3-star hotel, Hotel BB Park, where you can freshen up and relax. Spend the rest of the day exploring the area around your hotel at your own pace. You'll meet your English-speaking Slovenian guide and the rest of your group tomorrow morning.

After breakfast, embark on a leisurely walking tour of Ljubljana. Discover the city's main sites along the Ljubljanica River, including the scenic Tivoli Park and Ljubljana Castle. Enjoy lunch in a central restaurant and soak in the relaxed vibe of this small capital city. Return to Hotel BB Park for an overnight stay.

Today, we leave the city behind and journey into the majestic Julian Alps to the lakeside town of Bled. Enjoy a gentle walk up to Ojstrica for stunning views of the glacial lake and town. Take a boat ride to Bled Island and visit the 11th-century Bled Castle. Spend the night at Hotel Park, soaking in the serene reflections of the town on the lake.

After a short transfer to Rudno polje, we embark on a circular hike to the summit of Visevnik. Enjoy the scent of dwarf pines and clear mountain air as we ascend the slightly crumbling slope. After a packed lunch with stunning views, we descend to Lake Bohinj, another stunning lake that perfectly mirrors the surrounding peaks. Spend the night at Hotel Bohinj.

After breakfast, we take a walk from Ukanc to Slovenia's most famous waterfall, Savica. Marvel at its A-shaped pool of bright emerald hue. After lunch in town, enjoy some free time to explore further, with options like paddle boarding, kayaking, or a panoramic boat ride. Spend another night in Bohinj at Hotel Bohinj.

Today, we venture deeper into Triglav National Park to the scenic Double Lakes hut. Our walk takes us through a typical Alpine valley, surrounded by towering peaks. After a beautiful ascent from Bohinj to Mt Vogar, we traverse a picturesque plateau and valley. Enjoy a hearty meal with traditional dishes at the mountain lodge, where we'll spend the night.

Leaving Double Lakes hut, we head towards Krnsko Jezero Lake, Slovenia's largest high Alpine lake. Our route takes us past an open-air museum and offers astounding views. Please note that to protect the many animal and plant species in the water ecosystem, bathing in the lake is not permitted. We'll spend another night in dormitory accommodation.

After breakfast, we descend back to the valleys, hiking down to Bovec in the Soca Valley. Enjoy a fantastic path alongside the emerald waters of the Soca River. Bovec offers three war heritage collections and a large military cemetery, reflecting the intense WWI history of the area. Spend the night at Hotel Boka.

Journeying south from Bovec, we break our journey at Sabotin Hill Peace Park for incredible views over Slovenia and Italy. The hill is arranged as a memorial park where you can see the caverns and pyramids that denoted the front lines during WWI. In the afternoon, enjoy wine tasting at a local vineyard in the Brda region. Spend the night at Hotel San Martin.

After breakfast, we transfer as a group back to Ljubljana airport for your flights home, marking the end of an unforgettable journey through Slovenia.
