Snowshoeing & Winter Walking in the Julian Alps

Welcome to Slovenia! Upon arrival in Ljubljana, you'll be transferred to your hotel, Hotel BB Park (or similar), the city's first eco-hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring the surroundings or simply relaxing at the hotel. You'll meet your English-speaking Slovenian guide and the rest of the group the following morning.

After breakfast, embark on a leisurely walking tour of Ljubljana. Discover the city's main sites along the Ljubljanica River, enjoy the scenic Tivoli Park, and climb up to Ljubljana Castle for a panoramic view of the city. After a relaxing lunch, spend the rest of the day soaking in the city's vibrant atmosphere. Overnight at Hotel BB Park (or similar).

Today, we leave the city behind and venture into the majestic Julian Alps. Our destination is the lakeside town of Bohinj, nestled within Triglav National Park. After checking into our hotel, we'll embark on our first snowshoeing adventure, exploring the snowy woods and trails of the area. Overnight at Hotel Bohinj (or similar).

Today, we hike up to Mt Vogar, a peak ridge offering stunning views in all directions. After lunch, we'll walk alongside the lake to Slovenia's most famous waterfalls, Savica. Its bright emerald pool and 78m high cascade make for a breathtaking sight. Overnight at Hotel Bohinj (or similar).

Today, we embark on an adventure to Dom na Komni, a mountain refuge nestled in the majestic peaks. The hike up to Komna offers magnificent views of Bohinj and the rugged summits of the surrounding mountains. We'll spend the night in the refuge, experiencing the serenity of the mountains. Overnight at Koca na Konmi (or similar).

We leave Bohinj and head south to the Brda region, known for its exquisite wines. En route, we'll stop at Sabotin Hill Peace Park for a walk and to enjoy the panoramic views. In the afternoon, we'll visit a local vineyard for some wine tasting. Overnight at Hotel San Martin (or similar).

Today, we leave Brda and head to the Karst region. We'll enjoy a Prosciutto tasting session before hiking to Kokoska Hill. After lunch, we'll visit the UNESCO heritage Skocjan Caves, an exceptional limestone cave system. We'll spend the night in the small town of Lokev. Overnight at Hisa Krasna (or similar).

Today, we leave Lokev for the mystical forest landscapes of Kocevje, a UNESCO World Heritage site. With a local wildlife expert, we'll track wolves or look for evidence of bears. This region offers amazing opportunities for photography and learning about woodland wildlife. Overnight in a local farmhouse in Kocevje (to be confirmed, depending on the number of people).

After breakfast, we'll transfer as a group back to Ljubljana airport for your flights home, marking the end of our unforgettable journey through Slovenia.
