Walking in Slovenia

Our journey begins at Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport (LJU) at 21:45, where you'll meet your driver holding an Explore signboard. We will then travel together to our charming chalet-style hotel near Lake Bohinj, nestled within the stunning Triglav National Park. This serene lake, surrounded by spruce forests and the majestic Julian Alps, offers a tranquil start to our adventure. If you arrive earlier, consider exploring Ljubljana, Slovenia's picturesque capital, with its traffic-free old town and vibrant riverside cafes.

After meeting your Tour Leader at breakfast, we embark on our first hike around the northern side of Lake Bohinj. The trail leads us through serene forests to the impressive Savica Waterfall, cascading from a height of 78 meters. After marveling at this natural wonder, you can choose to return to the hotel by foot or enjoy a scenic boat ride across the lake.

Today, we take a local bus to Brod and begin our hike over a low ridge, discovering meadows filled with wildflowers and picturesque farming villages like Srednja Vas, Studor, and Stara Fuzina. These charming villages offer a glimpse into traditional Slovenian life. We return to Lake Bohinj via scenic farm tracks and quiet roads.

Enjoy a free day to relax around the hotel or engage in activities like kayaking on Lake Bohinj. Alternatively, take a public bus to Lake Bled, where you can row to the island, visit the castle, or walk through the breathtaking Vintgar Gorge. The gorge's wooden walkways offer an immersive nature experience, crossing the river multiple times over waterfalls and rapids.

We take a short bus ride to Milno on the shores of Lake Bled and set off on a scenic walk through forests, fields, and villages. A steep climb rewards us with a panoramic view of the lake. After lunch, we return via a different route, with the option to extend the walk around the lake or take the bus back to the hotel.

We walk along the southern shore of Lake Bohinj to the cable car station, ascending from 569 meters to 1533 meters in minutes. Our hike above the ski center towards Orlove Glave offers stunning views of the high mountains, including Mt Triglav. After soaking in the scenery, we return to the valley floor by cable car and either take the bus or hike back to the hotel.

Today's hike takes us through an attractive village and alongside a white-water river, passing through the Voje Valley with its pastures and chalets. We reach the Mostnica Gorge, a spectacular 2-kilometer-long gorge carved by the crystal-clear Mostnica stream. The towering walls and stunning views make this hike unforgettable. We return via different paths, enjoying fabulous views through pastures, forests, and riversides.
