Catalonia, south of France, Burgundy and Alsace

Welcome to the start of your Europamundo journey in Catalonia! We'll explore the historic city of Gerona, dominated by medieval buildings and Roman, Arab, and Hebrew reminiscences. Visit the impressive Gothic Cathedral of Santa María and the old Jewish quarter. We'll then continue to the medieval town of Besalú for lunch, followed by a visit to the charming coastal town of Colliure. In the evening, we'll arrive in Carcassonne, considered the best walled city in Europe.

We'll start the day exploring Carcassonne's impressive county castle and its medieval walls. After lunch, we'll continue to the picturesque historic center of Narbonne. In the evening, we'll arrive in Marseille, the second city of France, where we recommend a walk through its lively 'Vieux Port' full of small restaurants.

Today, we'll visit some of the most beautiful places in Provence. We'll start in Arles, a world heritage city, before moving on to the small medieval village of Les Beaux, where we'll visit the impressive Carrieres de Lumiere art show. After lunch in Avignon, we'll continue to Lyon, where we'll explore the World Heritage Site old town and take a cable car to the Notre Dame de Fourviere basilica for a great view over the city.

We'll set off from Lyon and head to the Burgundy region, stopping at Tournus, a quaint little town with an imposing stone gate and a large abbey. After that, we'll travel to Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy, where we recommend a visit to the wine museum or the historic hospice. We'll then visit the 15th-century Castle of Savigny before continuing to Dijon, the capital of Burgundy, known for its lively streets and numerous medieval and Renaissance buildings.

We'll start the day in Besançon, a city of Roman origin with a beautiful historic center and 17th-century citadel. We'll then continue to Alsace, stopping in Colmar, a city known for its unique architecture, colorful wooden houses, and canals. In the afternoon, we'll visit the fairy-tale-like towns of Riquewihr and Ribeauville before arriving in Strasbourg in the evening.

We'll start the day exploring Strasbourg, the capital of Alsace, known for its picturesque medieval streets, impressive Gothic cathedral, and canals. We'll take a boat trip through the canals of Petite France and visit a traditional Champagne cellar in Epernay, where we'll learn the secrets of the world's most famous sparkling drink. In the evening, we'll arrive in Paris.
