Your tour begins with a scenic ride from Bilbao to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, a breathtaking islet off the coast of the Bay of Biscay. Gaztelugatxe gained fame as the location for Dragonstone in "Game of Thrones," but its stunning beauty and historical significance make it worth visiting, whether you're a fan of the show or not. The islet, with the small chapel of San Juan, perched above the dramatic, rocky coastline, makes for an awe-inspiring sight.
Next, you’ll head to the peaceful village of Mundaka. Take a walk along the pier and the quiet Urdaibai River estuary, where you’ll see some traditional fishing methods that have been part of life here for generations.
In Gernika, you'll enjoy a local lunch before exploring the Assembly Hall, market, and air shelters. You’ll also learn about the town’s history and see Picasso’s "Guernica," a powerful painting that reflects the town's spirit.
Throughout the experience, a knowledgeable expert will guide you, offering valuable insights and information. The activity is offered in 2 languages: English and Spanish.

Nice tour with good mix of nature and history. The guide explained many interesting things about the area. Went with my child, 7yo, and they fixed a booster seat for the bus, which was nice. The hike to Gaztelugaxte was a bit hard for her, but she could do it, and enjoyed running around by the sea in Mundaka.

The tour started promptly at 09:00 by the puppy in front of the Guggenheim, so very easy to find. There were 4 couples including us in a minivan which was a little crammed but I think a bigger vehicle wouldn't be able to find parking easily. Our guide Ardur was an excellent driver. His English is perfect and as a native of the region he had great insights of everything and could answer anything. The time at each stop was just fine and we never felt rushed. There is quite a bit of walking at the first stop which could be hard for people with mobility issues but Ardur told me, that so far everyone had been able to do most or all of it.

What a great tour it was! The best part about it was our tour guide Adur. He shared histories, anecdotes, and stories that made the trip unforgettable. But beware - the climb up and back from Gaztalugatxe is strenuous walking! Be warned.

I had an amazing time on this tour. The tour guide, Eduardo, was very knowledgeable and passionate. As someone who works in hospitality, I can tell when someone is passionate about what they do. Throughout the duration of the tour, Eduardo demonstrated his passion for each topic that he addressed. The trip was well-paced while offering a great deal of historical information while spending time in the beautiful nature of the Basque Country. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone in decent physical condition, as there is a moderate level of hiking involved.

Professional, engaging, and hospitable, this tour is first-rate. Be prepared to collect some raindrops while walking on steep and rocky terrain.

We were collected at "The Puppy" by our wonderful guide Pilar and driven throughout in a modern clean minibus. She is a lovely guide - friendly, engaging and knowledgable. She warned us that the walk to Gaztelugatxe
(and back) would be a challenge and she was not joking! 6800 steps up and down an incline maxing out at 30°. The weather was in our favour so watching the surfers and having lunch outdoors in Mundaka was a joy. I had no expectations of the guernica visit and found it profoundly moving. Seeing the Picasso "Gernikara" in situ was amazing. The Guernica tree completed Pilar's remit and after a loo break we headed back to Bilbao. I would highly.recommend this trip it is fabulous value for money.
