LOCAL FLAVORS! Half-Day Bike Tour with Olive Oil Tasting

Katrina and Manfred were the perfect hosts from start to finish! The ride was well planned and led us through the beautiful Catalonian countryside .. the cooperativa producing olive oil was well worth a visit , with a wonderful little shop with an array of amazing local products at brilliant prizes. I would describe trip as “authentic”giving you a real feel for Catalonian village life .. Thankyou both 🤩

This is our second trip with Downhill Bikes, we had great fun and will be sure to return again on our next visit to Salou. Kathrin and Manfred are full of knowledge and good humour. The scenery was beautiful and the roads almost traffic free making for a safe and enjoyable experience.

Visiting the cooperativa was an authentic experience and gave us the opportunity to taste (and buy!) some of the best olive oil in the world for a very reasonable price. The road biking section before this was very long and snaked through the incredible Catalan mountains and countryside, the smell of the pine forest was delightful!

It was a great way to spend half a day, simply enjoying the cycling and the views, and a change from the typical beach experience. Katrine and Mandred were great tour guides. I’d highly recommend this if you want to do something a bit different on holiday. Great fun!

A Half-Day Escape into the Real Spain.

This half-day riding tour was an absolute gem! From the moment we set off into the hills above Salou, I knew we were in for a treat. The scenery was breathtaking, with rolling hills and stunning vistas.

Our guides were fantastic - knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about the area. They made everyone feel at ease, whether you were a seasoned rider or a complete beginner. Their insights into the local culture and history added a rich dimension to the experience.

Riding through a traditional Catalonian town was like stepping back in time. The charming architecture and warm atmosphere were captivating.

It was fascinating to learn about the process and taste some delicious local produce at the olive oil museum and to top it off, a refreshing drink at a local bar was the perfect end to a wonderful morning.

If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the coast and experience the real Spain, I wholeheartedly recommend this tour. It's a fantastic way to explore the beautiful countryside, immerse yourself in local culture, and create unforgettable memories.

Amazing. Best experience to get out of the tourist trap if Dalou town which is nice in its own right. But what an experience to get into the real Catalan countryside. Exhilarating and beautiful scenery. This is my second time, once with my own children and a second time with my partners. Everyone enjoyed the experience from 9 yrs old to well let’s just say older. Definitely a must do activity.

Booked the trip at home, directly with the company online. Great communication and no problems at all on the meet up. Manfred and Julian were our guides. They were really friendly and good company. Our group ranged from 16 to 72 and we all had a great time.

This is very worthwhile doing. Manfred and Kathryn ensure that the day is very fun and that you get to experience the authentic Catalan way of life. Such respect shown to the local people. The cycling was fun as was downhill. Always felt safe. The olive oil experience was nice with the opportunity to buy true organic olive oil at a very reasonable price. We were lucky to squeeze in lunch at the local restaurant sampling local cuisine in the company of our Germans and Dutch friends along with our two fab hosts ..

This tour is a must do if staying in or near salou .collected at hotel brought up into the mountain for cycling . This tour is suitable for all abilities ,ages or families.katrin and Manfred are very knowledgeable and passionate about their business, grest fun cycling down the mountain, mostly free wheeling. Views are absolutely amazing , trip ends with a tour of local olive oil producing co op museum and oil tasting. Will do again , thanks guys

Amazing day , Kathryn and Manfred Amazing , scenery amazing. Picked up right on time and from that point it was just amazing fun. Safety is 1st but after that , who needs Portaventura for adventure. Great views , empty roads with amazing bends and no hard work or queues. Knowledge of both makes for an even better adventure and buying the pictures at end of trip is a must .

We had a very enjoyable family(2adults & 3 teens) cycle with Downhill Bikes about a week ago. We got to see the beautiful Costa Dorada mountain scenery, from our bikes. Most of the trip is freewheeling downhill, so it wasn't that difficult to complete. It finished with a lovely Tour of the Olive Oil Museum and a group social chat/drink.

Kathrin & Manfred (Downhill Bikes) were very friendly, kind and helpful throughout our trip. They made us feel at ease, throughout our cycle.

I would highly recommend this Bike Trip to those who are visiting this region.
