Embark on an enchanting 8-day cycling tour through the heart of Spain's wine country, La Rioja. This multi-day tour offers a unique blend of rich history, stunning landscapes, and world-class wines. Starting in the vibrant city of Logroño, you'll journey through picturesque towns, UNESCO World Heritage sites, and lush vineyards. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to taste the region's famous Rioja wines, explore charming historic towns, and immerse yourself in the local culture. With comfortable accommodations and delicious meals included, this tour promises an unforgettable adventure.

All breakfasts are included. There is a good choice of restaurants in the local area for Dinner options. Half board options available - ask for details when booking.
There is a cycle transfer to the start of the route included on Day 2 of the itinerary.
The flight inclusive prices for this holiday include our standard transfers. If you are booking a land only package then we can usually arrange transfers for you for an additional charge.
You stay at carefully picked hotels throughout your Rioja cycling trip. They range from and 18th Century town mansion hotel, to an elegant 4 star historic hotel housed within the Yuso Monastery, a UNESCO World Heratage Site. For your evening meals you can choose to sample the hotel's specialities or select one of the many fine local restaurants (all payable locally).

Day 1 – Day 1: Arrival in Logrono

Welcome to Logrono, the vibrant capital of La Rioja. Spend your first day exploring the city's charming historic centre and indulging in local cuisine at excellent restaurants and tapas bars. Don't forget to toast to the start of your adventure with a glass of Rioja. Overnight at the Hotel Gran Via Husa (or similar), with breakfast included.
Day 2 – Day 2: Logrono to San Millan de la Cogolla

After a short transfer, start your cycling adventure along a section of the famous El Camino de Santiago. Your destination for the day is the beautiful town of San Millan de la Cogolla, home to the UNESCO-listed twin monasteries of Yuso and Suso. Overnight at the Hostería Monasterio de San Millán (or similar), with breakfast included.
Day 3 – Day 3: San Millan de la Cogolla to Ezcaray

Start your day with a visit to the monasteries before setting off on an easy cycle through the rolling countryside. Your destination is the historic town of Ezcaray, nestled in the foothills of the Sierra de la Demanda mountains. Explore the town's charming architecture before settling in for the night. Overnight at the Hotel Palacio Azcárate (or similar), with breakfast included.
Day 4 – Day 4: Ezcaray to Haro

Enjoy a gentle cycle along a dedicated lane, stopping for coffee in the historic towns of Santo Domingo de la Calzada and Casalareina. Your final destination is Haro, the capital of wine production in the Rioja region. You'll stay here for the next two nights. Overnight at the Hotel los Agustinos (or similar), with breakfast included.
Day 5 – Day 5: Haro Loop

Today, you have the option to rest or to cycle a delightful loop amongst the vineyards. Visit the beautiful town of Briones, home to the Wine Museum of the Vivancos vineyard, and then onto Labastia before returning to Haro. Alternatively, spend the day exploring Haro's famous vineyards. Overnight at the Hotel los Agustinos (or similar), with breakfast included.
Day 6 – Day 6: Haro to Laguardia

Cycle along the river Ebro to the hilltop town of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, a 10th-century fortress overlooking the Ebro. Continue through colourful landscapes to the medieval walled town of Laguardia. Explore the ancient churches and their baroque paintings. Overnight at the Hotel Posada Real de Migueloa (or similar), with breakfast included.
Day 7 – Day 7: Laguardia to Logrono

Leave Laguardia and head to the town of El Ciego, famous for its Marques de Riscal vineyard and its spectacular building designed by architect Frank Gehry. Rejoin the river Ebro and cycle back to Logroño. Overnight at the Hotel Gran Via Husa (or similar), with breakfast included.
