Your journey begins at the National Museum Cardiff, where you’ll meet your guide before traveling in a comfortable, fully electric vehicle limited to just seven passengers. Upon arrival in Pontneddfechan, the hike starts, offering fascinating insights into the region’s industrial heritage and natural wonders as you ascend 400 meters through varied terrain.
Experience the thrill of walking behind cascading waterfalls and, for the adventurous, enjoy a refreshing swim in the final pool. The path chosen avoids the busiest routes, ensuring a tranquil and immersive experience amid the park’s stunning scenery. Sturdy hiking boots are recommended for the often muddy and uneven ground.
Throughout the day, Andy will share his extensive knowledge developed over thirty years of guiding in the Brecon Beacons. During May to September, a pop-up café may be open halfway, but bringing a packed lunch and warm drink is advised, as the café is not always available due to weather conditions.
This full-day hike takes place rain or shine and is suitable for those with a reasonable fitness level.
