Following John's Legacy: A 6-Day Pilgrimage to Turkey's 7 Churches

Upon arrival at Istanbul airport, we will embark on a captivating journey through the city's rich history. Our first stop is the Hagia Sophia, a marvel of architecture that has served as a church, mosque, and now a museum. Next, we visit the Topkapi Palace, the former residence of Ottoman sultans, showcasing an impressive collection of artifacts. We then explore the Hippodrome, the ancient center of sports and politics, followed by the stunning Blue Mosque, renowned for its beautiful blue tiles. Finally, enjoy some free time shopping at the bustling Grand Bazaar. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.

After a morning flight to Izmir, we explore the ancient city of Smyrna, known for its early Christian community. We then travel to Pergamum, home to the steepest ancient theater and the altar of Zeus. Here, we reflect on the city's historical significance before visiting the Red Basilica, a former pagan temple turned Christian church. Our day concludes with a visit to the Asclepion, an ancient medical center. Overnight stay in Izmir.

After breakfast, we visit Hierapolis, an ancient city known for its pagan cults and evangelization by Paul and Epaphras. We then explore Pamukkale, famous for its hot springs and limestone pools. Our journey continues to Laodicea, where we see extensive ruins, including a stadium and columned streets. Overnight stay in Kusadasi.

Today, we embark on a full-day tour of Ephesus, one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. We walk through the ancient city's marble-paved streets, visit the Great Theatre, and see the Chapel of the Virgin Mary. Our tour continues with a visit to the Basilica of St. John and the Museum of Ephesus. Dinner and overnight stay in Kusadasi.
