Albania: South Albania Trekk - 8 days

After breakfast, we'll depart for Limar, starting our trek through the Zagoria region, one of Europe's best-preserved natural environments. We'll pass by villages and Ottoman remains before reaching Limar. In the afternoon, we'll rest in our mountain accommodation, a welcoming family home.

Today's journey takes us through the Dhembellit mountains, a region inhabited by shepherds. We'll pass through several villages, witnessing vestiges of the orthodox religion, grazing areas, and large wooded stands. In Hosteve, we'll visit its church and appreciate the architecture of these isolated mountain villages. We'll arrive at our accommodation in Sheper in the afternoon.

After breakfast, we'll depart from Sheper to the town of Permet. We'll pass through the Dhembelit pass, the highest point of the day, before descending to the village of Leushë, known for its small orthodox church with beautiful frescoes. We'll continue our journey to reach Permet where we'll spend the night.

We'll depart by vehicle to the village of Pagri, from where we'll start our crossing to Sheper, the birthplace of the Frasheri brothers. We'll pass through Boroçkë, in the heart of the Bredhi i Hotoves National Park, visiting one of the most unknown landscapes in this region. We'll stay in Sheper for the night, cared for by a local family.

After breakfast, we'll return to the village of Pagri via a different path, entering the heart of the Hotoves fir forest. From Pagri, a transport will take us back to Permet.

After breakfast, we'll continue our journey to reach Berat, a World Heritage Site city with a marked Ottoman style. We'll visit the castle for a panoramic view of the city. In the afternoon, we'll arrive in Tirana, the capital of Albania. We'll visit the city center, clock tower, mosque, Skënderbej square, and Blloku neighborhood. The bustle of the capital will be a complete contrast to the tranquility we've experienced so far. We'll spend the night in a central hotel.
