Cycling Bohemia from Vienna to Prague

Your European adventure begins in the cultural capital of Vienna, Austria's largest city and a leading musical center. Arrive early to explore the city's stunning Medieval and Baroque architecture, a testament to its imperial past. In the evening, join us for a welcome drink and a special dinner to kick off the tour.

Spend the day immersing yourself in Vienna's artistic and architectural grandeur. Join a guided tour to explore the city's historic and contemporary buildings, including the legendary imperial palaces. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely ride along the Danube.

We start the day with a shuttle to the charming Czech town of Nova Hrady. After lunch, we cross the border into the Czech Republic, cycling through farmland and forests to reach Cesky Krumlov. This beautiful city is home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site - the Cesky Krumlov Castle. Enjoy a guided walk through the town before dinner at a local restaurant.

After a leisurely morning in Cesky Krumlov, we head north, cycling along the tranquil Vltava river to Ceske Budejovice. This city is known for its historic Budvar Brewery, which dates back to the 13th century. Enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure.

Leaving Ceske Budejovice, we cycle along a riverside path to Hluboká nad Vltavou, home to the stunning 19th-century Hluboká Castle. From there, we continue through Southern Bohemia's calming scenery to reach Strakonice, known for its 19th-century felted wool hat production. In the evening, we visit a local craft brewery and enjoy a special meal prepared by a top Czech chef.

Today's route takes us through the rolling highlands of western Bohemia to Plzen, home of the world-famous Pilsner Urquell beer. Along the way, we pass by Nepomuk, the birthplace of the famous Czech saint, St. John of Nepomuk. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring Plzen, a city that celebrates its liberation from Nazi Germany every year.

Depart Plzen and cycle through a countryside dotted with baroque farming villages. Along the way, stop to visit one of Europe's oldest surviving hammer mills. Our destination for the day is the medieval city of Beroun. Enjoy a coffee on the square before heading out for dinner on your own.

Today, we cycle towards the majestic Karlštejn Castle, a medieval fortress built to protect the crown jewels of the Holy Roman Empire. From there, we descend back to the river valley and follow a bike path into the heart of Prague. Known as 'The Paris of the East', this vibrant city is sure to captivate you with its rich history and stunning architecture.

Our tour concludes with a guided tour of Prague in the morning. However, we highly recommend extending your stay to fully experience this magnificent city.
