Lechweg from Lake Formarin to the Fairytale Castles of Füssing - 10 days

Begin your journey in the charming city of Lech am Arlberg, a renowned winter sports resort that also boasts a unique summer charm. Spend the afternoon exploring the city at your leisure before settling in for the night at the cozy Hotel Bergheim (or similar).

Take a local bus to the Formarinsee terminus and hike down to the beautiful Lake Formarinsee. Enjoy the panoramic views across the lake and observe several springs along the path. Continue your journey along the Lech riverside path, passing by the Ibex Monument, waterfalls, flower meadows, and wooden bridges before returning to Lech am Arlberg and your accommodation at Hotel Bergheim (or similar).

Today, embark on a hike along the scenic Panorama Trail towards the city of Warth. The trail runs above the Lech gorge, offering stunning views of the turquoise river. After reaching Warth, take a bus back to Lech and rest at the Hotel Bergheim (or similar).

Start your day with a hike from Stanzach to the Lechzopf. Make a detour to the Baichlstein to take in the panoramic view of the striking landscape. Follow the Lechweg along the gravel banks to Weißenbach. From there, take a public bus to Reutte and check into the Hotel zum Mohren (or similar).

You can return to Weißenbach by bus and follow the Lech back to Reutte, or take a trip to the Ehrenberg castle world with the connected suspension bridge Highline 179. Leave Reutte behind and continue hiking from Pflach towards the Allgäu. Cross the border from Tyrol to Bavaria on forest and woodland paths. Follow in the footsteps of King Ludwig II as you hike along the shores of Lake Alpsee to Schwangau. Enjoy the view over the rooftops of Füssen and far into the Alpine foothills before descending to the Lech Falls. End your day with a comfortable stay at the Altstadthotel Zum Hechten (or similar).
