Private Half-Day Eagle's Nest Tour from Salzburg

Eagle’s Nest tour with Michael was wonderful … he was knowledgeable and funny — really great company for the day. Access to the actual Eagles Nest was blocked due to an early season snow storm but the tour was definitely worth it regardless — so much history and natural beauty in this area.

We loved our tour guide Carlos. He was fun and very knowledgeable about not only the Eagle’s Nest history but many other things. The views were amazing and surreal above the clouds.

The historic significance, the very attentive tour guide. The beauty of the area as a nature preserve. The museum history lesson of WWII. We recommend this tour highly.

Our tour guide (Luciano) sent a message saying that he was going to pick us up at 0750. We had only been in Austria for 2 days so the family was a little tired, but we did it anyway. Boy did he know what he was doing. His goal was to get moving early enough to beat the surge of tourists that start arriving to the park. We got there and the first thing we did was go up to the top. He was spot on right. We got up there and the clouds had given us the perfect view for the day. He told us that it's less than 25% chance to get a good view on the (right side) and then 50% chance of getting a good view of the lake side. We got both and then literally within 20 minutes the clouds took over. We then went back down and spent an hour in the bunker tour. We could have spent several hours! This whole trip was unbelievable for our family of 6.

Our tour guide, Carlos, was truly one of the most friendly tour guides. He had a very funny sense of humor, and we had a great time. It didn’t feel like we were overwhelmed with loads of information, but instead we learned the important facts that stuck with our whole group.

The tour itself is amazing and we saw some incredible views. Having a tour guide like Carlos made the experience that much better. Would hope for people visiting in the future that they could have a similar experience!

Carlos was amazing! His van was incredibly clean. He was very knowledgeable and personable. He gave us the option of visiting the underground bunker which we did and I personally am so glad he gave us that option. Carlos speaks six languages and his English is perfect. This tour of the Eagles Nest was incredible! Carlos was our guide, and besides his kindness and hospitality, he was very knowledgeable and informative during our time together.

The experience was hassle-free and very enjoyable. We had a blast, and the fact that Carlos is passionate about the history makes it even better.

We will definitely do it again, and we highly recommend!

The whole trip was wonderful from start to finish. Our driver and guide pointed out many things about the region that we would have missed if we had been on our own. He even took us to locations from the sound of music that we didn’t see on our tour the day before that were on our route.

Michael, our tour guide, was excellent. Because we knew a fair amount about the history of this period, we needed a tour guide with in-depth knowledge of the period leading up to WW2 and after. Michael had that knowledge. He was also delightful as a person as well. Highly recommended.
