Begin your day with a boat trip to Weyregg (for arrivals between 01.07. and 31.08.), or cycle along Lake Attersee. Then, cycle through the Aurachtal valley to Lake Traunsee, visiting Gmunden, Altmünster, and Traunkirchen. Overnight stay will be at either Post Ebensee or Hocheck.

Take a train from Lake Traunsee to Obertraun at Lake Hallstättersee, home to the Dachstein mountainous ice caves. Continue along the lake to Hallstatt, known as 'the loveliest lakeside location in the world' and home to the oldest salt mine. Your destination for the night is Bad Goisern or one of the neighbouring towns. Overnight stay will be at either Moserwirt or Goisererhof.

Follow the cycle route to St. Gilgen, the Tiefbrunnau hiking trail, and on to the deep blue Fuschlsee. From there, pass the Hintersee lake, and the Strubklamm gorge into the Wiestal valley.
