Upon your arrival in Sofia, you will be warmly welcomed at the airport around 3 p.m. After a brief reception, you'll embark on a scenic drive to your accommodation in Bansko, nestled at the foot of the majestic Pirin Mountains. Enjoy a restful night at a comfortable hotel (or similar) in Bansko. Travel time is approximately 2.5 hours, covering a distance of 160 km.

After a hearty breakfast, a short drive will take you to a cable car that ascends to the Bezbog hut. From here, embark on a hike to the summit of Polezhan, the fifth highest peak in the Pirin range. The route, which follows the north-east ridge, offers stunning vistas and is manageable except for the final 20 minutes. Upon reaching the summit, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of over 17 glacial lakes. Return to Bansko for an overnight stay. If time permits, consider a relaxing visit to the thermal baths in Dobrinishte. Walking time is approximately 5 hours, covering 7 km with an elevation gain and loss of 770 meters.

Today's adventure begins with a transfer to the starting point of your hike. You'll traverse the picturesque Banderishki group of lakes, passing several stunning glacial lakes along the way. The route takes you through the Todorina-Porta saddle and into the Yulen nature reserve, culminating at the Demyanitsa hut. The path is shaded by untouched fir forests and follows the serene Demyanitsa River. After meeting your transfer vehicle, you'll return to Bansko for another overnight stay. Walking time is approximately 6-7 hours, covering 16 km with an elevation gain of 615 meters and a descent of 1215 meters.

Set out to conquer Vihren, the highest peak in the Pirin Mountains and the second highest in Bulgaria. The climb offers breathtaking views, especially from the Golem Kazan on the north face. This part of the mountain range is known for its karst areas, and with some luck, you might spot wild Balkan chamois or rare edelweiss. After descending, you'll return to Bansko for another overnight stay. Walking time is approximately 6-7 hours, covering 8 km with an elevation gain and loss of 960 meters.

Bid farewell to the Pirin Mountains as you journey towards the Rila Mountains. After a 2-hour drive, you'll visit the UNESCO-listed Rila Monastery, the largest and most renowned Christian monastery in Bulgaria, famed for its extraordinary frescoes. Continue to the Panichishte resort, where a short hike will lead you to the Skakavitsa waterfall. Overnight stay at the Panichishte resort. Walking time is approximately 3-4 hours, covering 9 km with an elevation gain and loss of 390 meters.

Take a cable car to the Seven Rila Lakes, each uniquely named after its shape, such as Kidney Lake and Twin Lake. Hike up the ridge for a distant view of the Rila Monastery and continue to the summit of Malyovitsa. Descend through the valley of the same name and stay overnight in a family hotel in Govedartsi. Walking time is approximately 7 hours, covering 18 km with an elevation gain of 800 meters and a descent of 1200 meters.

Rise early to tackle Musala, the highest mountain in Bulgaria. A cable car will take you to the starting point of your hike. The trail ascends past glacial lakes and mountain huts, with the summit always in view. Walking time is approximately 6 hours, covering 14.5 km with an elevation gain and loss of 690 meters.

As your adventure comes to an end, you'll drive from Govedartsi to Sofia Airport. From here, you can either head home or continue your travels. Departures from 11:30 a.m. are recommended. Travel time is approximately 1.5 hours, covering a distance of 75 km.
