Amazing!

Anthony did an amazing tour that was interesting for both my kids (8 and 11 yo) and adults. Anthony is a knowledgeable and entertaining guide, who is clearly passionate about the museum and archeology. He kept the kids interested in walking through the museum and listening for over two hours, which is not an easy task. Separately, I’d commend Anthony for proactive and supportive communication before the tour (first, we had to adjust time and then, to change the date because of delays in our flight). We’ll do a tour with Anthony again next time.

Amazing!

My mother and I are Americans and took this tour and felt it was 100% worth it. Anthony Matthews was brilliant and explained and pointed us the most impt things to see. As mother and I had a very short time in London, we really wanted to see the most important aspects of the beautiful city including the British Museum. As we had a time crunch to make our afternoon tour, we told Anthony for our morning tour what our interests were and he valued our time and was excellent at managing our time and optimizing it so we saw only the most important pieces of the museum including the Rosetta Stone. I also wanted to see the Egyptology section, my interest and he took us to that also as well as the other impt historical pieces in the museum. Without him mother and I would be lost and we would have wasted so much time. Anthony is excellent and keeping you engaged in the museum, and is a very valuable resource and educator. I am so grateful I book our tour with him. I hope I can return to England and book another tour with Anthony. Thank you so much sir.

Amazing!

On time and in first thing to beat some of the crowds. The guide was so knowledgable and had a very relatable take, as a scientist, than many other more story based guides. Fun, to the point and we had a great time hearing more about pieces than we would ever glean from posted data. Great communication on meeting made it perfect.

Amazing!

Cannot possibly recommend this tour and guide highly enough! Anthony was a top notch guide for 2-1/2 hours and made sure we hit all the highlights of the British Museum. He brought the exhibits to life with his narratives (I won’t say “stories” because they’re actually historical facts). His way of explaining so-called curses and the “whys” of Sun worship made what knowledge we had from school finally make sense! If you want to get the most out of your visit to this fabulous museum, Anthony is the guide for you.

Amazing!

Anthony was a friendly and witty guide, not to mention extremely knowledgable about the science of archaeology! He was great with our three teenage daughters and made them feel very smart for knowing answers to some of his questions. His narratives of the history of ancient Greece and Rome were clear and easy to follow for all of us. Highly recommend Anthony Matthews! Hope to use him again in the future.

Amazing!

Tony is a retired archaeologist in addition to a Blue Badge Guide, and it was such a cool experience to hear about the science behind the artifacts, have him explain how certain items were excavated and acquired by the museum (its crazy how many items had crowbar marks!), and have him translate ancient languages for us from walls, a sarcophagus, and even the Rosetta Stone. If you're interested in the science and other processes behind how we get our understanding of history, you'll love this tour! We booked 2 of the 3 hour British Museum tour on Voator back to back to make a 6 hour tour day and it was an incredible wealth of information.
